Im a NYC based wedding photographer who specializes in shooting film. I love shooting in natural light and capturing people as they are. You’ll be surrounded by your loved ones, not posed under bright lights. I will weave through the event, capturing genuine laughter, joyful tears, and all those little interactions that define your celebration.

One time I stayed at a friends grandparent’s house on a road trip. When her grandma heard I was a wedding photographer her eyes lit up. She went and got her wedding album from 60 years ago to show me. To me this is the best part of my job. I get to create art for people that more than half a century from now they will still treasure.

The best and classiest!
We are so happy we chose Colman as our wedding photographer! We can't stop looking at all the beautiful photos from our wedding at Scripps Seaside Forum, a somewhat atypical venue that Colman (and his second photographer Miro) did a great job shooting at. Colman is so friendly and really put us at ease thoughout the whole process, and was flexible in accommodating our desire to balance some great posed photos with also having plenty of time to enjoy ourselves and talk to our guests. He was also extraordinarily generous in taking several glamour shots of our guests which have been so fun to send out to our loved ones. We also appreciated the included engagement shoot prior to the wedding, which aside from the photos provided an opportunity for us to get to know Colman a little before the hectic wedding day. Colman shoots on both film and digital, which we love, and the product is the perfect combination of elevated and natural. We have some gorgeous traditional shots, some really fun ones, and several beautifully artistic ones that we'll cherish forever. They feel timeless and capture all the joy of our wedding day. We are so grateful and highly recommend Colman!

The best!
Colman McVaney Photography was truly exceptional in capturing our wedding day. Colman has an incredible eye for detail, expertly documenting all the special moments and emotions of our celebration. He is incredibly kind and patient, putting us at ease during the portrait session and seamlessly blending in to get wonderful candid shots. We loved Colman at our wedding and engagement!
We loved working with Colman. He has experience and has great pose ideas which was great because we didn’t really know what we wanted. He’s super easy to work with and some of my favorite photos were his more creative ones. He also did our engagement shoot and we loved everything. I would 100% recommend him for your wedding or other event.

Colman is an incredible person to work with, he’s precise and intentional about capturing the vision that you have for your wedding. For us Colman was our videographer and he was in constant communication with us. He was clear and easy to work with, and made sure we were happy with the end results. We saw how talented he was with photography that we trusted his talents with creating an amazing wedding video for us. I would highly recommend him.
