Hi, I'm Lilli, a British/Danish baker based in NY. I left a career in design consulting because I was bursting with ideas for truly unique cakes that tell personal stories. I journeyed around the world to train in my favourite restaurants and bakeries, like Rochelle Canteen in London, and Blue Hill at Stone Barns in New York. Much to his surpise the bakery was much more than just breads, soon they would discover many talents needed to be learned and fast.

Jon Payson and Naomi Josepher moved to NYC in the early Nineties. Together, they enjoyed seeking out phenomenal desserts all around the city. When they moved to Park Slope, Brooklyn in 2003, they noticed a need for a dessert café on quickly changing Fifth Avenue. After reading an inspirational book on chocolate, they decided to create a café specializing in high-end chocolate, extraordinary desserts, handmade ice creams, dessert wines and beers from all over the world, as well as superb coffee. Milk Bar is a sweet (and occasionally savory) shop that’s been turning familiar treats upside down and on their heads, shaking up the dessert scene since 2008.
