Sylvanside Farm was our first and only venue visit for our daughter’s wedding. The beautiful grounds and historical buildings on the farm made it an easy decision for us all. The owners, Terri and Jeff, have restored their property with utmost respect to its historical charm. Having on site lodging allowed both families to spend quality time together and hosting the rehearsal dinner on site made for an all around relaxing weekend. The curated list of preferred vendors, which Sylvanside provides, was very helpful and each vendor that we selected from their list was top notch. Terri and Jeff were very accommodating and responsive throughout the planning process and I highly recommend their venue for your special day.

Words cannot express how grateful we are to everyone at District Winery, especially our coordinator Kat, for everything they did to make our wedding such a success. It exceeded our wildest dreams. Kat and the team were a joy to work with and made everything smooth and seamless from beginning to end. The food and drink were phenomenal, and the venue looked and felt incredible on the day of the wedding. Many of our guests said it was the best wedding they had ever attended and we certainly agree. We would recommend District Winery without reservation for any event and would love to host another event there one day.

My daughter and her husband chose Milton Ridge for their wedding venue. I live on the opposite coast so I had no opportunity to have a look myself. She and her husband were very happy with the layout of the property and the location. She assured me that staff were warm and friendly as well as very professional and that all questions were addressed promptly and in great detail. My daughter and her husband felt listened to and respected by everyone at Milton Ridge. I was anxious but it was their wedding and they had done a lot of research! I am overjoyed that they chose Milton Ridge for their very special day!! I spoke to many guests and family members that day and evening; everyone had high praise for the couple’s choice of venue. The property is self-contained with a beautiful turn of the century chapel on the lower level of the property and a very large bricked patio on the upper level; with an enormous wooden gazebo at one end and tiered garden area at the opposite end. Indoor or outdoor wedding?? Hard to choose as both areas are sooooo lovely. The Bridal suite and Grooms quarter are in a building adjacent to the chapel on the lower level of the property. Another turn of the century building with Bridal suite, porch and porch swing on the ground level and the Grooms quarters on the 2nd level via a private enclosed stairway; providing total privacy for both parties and their respective entourages. Both areas were very well appointed, comfortable and large; plenty of room for multiple people in each area to get ready for the big day! The Reception Hall was on the upper level with a porch and short stairway leading from the hall to the outdoor patio. The Hall was fresh and bright with plenty of room for DJ, tables, dance floor, bar and buffet without feeling overfilled or crowded. Bride and Groom chose the bar-b-que menu for their dinner; it was beautifully presented, delicious and plentiful. No one left Milton Ridge hungry that evening! The wait staff and bartenders were all very attentive and had obviously been very well trained at table service and bar service respectively. Music was provided by a DJ who was contracted by Milton Ridge and was included with the package that my daughter and her husband had chosen. The selection was a mix of old and new with the focus of getting the guests up and dancing. He was very good at his job and he accomplished his goal! Last but definitely not least; the photographer; also contracted with Milton Ridge! He was amazing!!! The unique shots, quality and beauty of his work left us speechless. He was everywhere, but never in the way, always inconspicuous and watching for that perfect candid shot. Even his posed photos had a very relaxed casual look about them. All photos were organized and available to the newlyweds on the Milton Ridge website within 10days of their wedding day!! ALL pictures belong to her and her husband to print, copy and share with whoever they wish!! Milton Ridge exceeded my expectation and I would never hesitate to recommend them to anyone!!

Their options for ceremony locations are all you could ever ask for to invite all your friends and family witness your union & photographer's dream. The best part is the views that overlook the nursery with the Virginia Blue Ridge Mountains that are unmatched at golden hour. The Greenhouse Reception tent has the most beautiful light any time of day & the reflection of the lights above is truly so romantic. Everywhere you look on the property makes a great photograph. The staff is so friendly and just does the best job running the show. Every wedding I've had the opportunity to photograph there has just been top notch & has gone so smoothly! We can’t say enough wonderful things about Rixey Manor! Choosing to have our wedding there was one of the best decisions we made. It was truly an unforgettable venue that had everything we could have dreamed of and more! From the moment we booked, Isadora and Grace were amazing—accommodating, knowledgeable, extremely responsive, and helpful answering any questions we had and offering much needed guidance. There’s no need for a separate wedding planner because they are an exceptional team! They provided excellent vendor recommendations, seamlessly coordinated every detail, and made the entire planning process feel manageable and smooth. They really thought of everything to make our wedding day unique and special! We had the entire manor for the weekend, from Friday through Sunday, which included beautiful bedrooms where some of our family stayed and it felt so special that we could all stay together and celebrate. And the guest house where the groomsmen stayed and got ready was very helpful and so much fun! This made the experience feel like a full, immersive celebration. We held both our rehearsal dinner and welcome party at the manor, which made everything convenient for our guests and was the perfect way to start our wedding weekend. Our ceremony was originally going to be outdoors in front of the manor, but rain forced us to move it to our tented reception area. Isadora and Grace handled this change in plans with such ease, ensuring that our wedding was still beautiful, stress-free, and magical—rain or shine. They quickly transitioned everything so our reception could also take place on the scenic patio, where elegant decorations and stunning views created theperfect atmosphere. Rixey Manor is much more than just a beautiful venue. The manor itself is a treasure, with its ballroom, cozy library, fireplaces, and a charming rooftop veranda where guests can hang out and enjoy incredible views. It felt like a home away from home, but with all the elegance of a high-end venue. The staff, including the friendly and attentive bartending team, made us and our guests feel so special. I got ready at the manor with my bridal party—15 bridesmaids, plus family members—and it was such a great experience! The team thought of everything and provided everything we needed to be prepared for the day. They were also great with children, helping our two flower girls feel welcome and comfortable. An enchanting venue! Just what we were looking for to host our daughter’s Quinceañera this May. Bel Air is as gorgeous in person as it looks in the pictures. Fitting our theme (enchanted forest), Bel Air has a very well-kept garden, a gorgeous path of aged trees, and of course the spacious rustic barn to compliment every aspect of our “Enchanted Quince” event. The space is gorgeous with minimal decor, or a blank canvas for creativity. Perfect to begin and end the day in one place, from hair and makeup to end of reception, and with all the magical moments in between. We used every spot of the venue and worked with Maria to get the lights to change colors during the event as we progressed through different segments and performances of the night. She was great to work with before and during the event. We are very thankful for her receptivity to our questions and ideas as we put together a very busy event. Our guests loved the beauty of the venue and vendors who were new to Bel Air were stunned by such a gorgeous place in such a convenient location. My recommendation is: book early!

No need to look any further this is the perfect venue! Lovingston winery is the perfect setting to tie the knot. One of the most unique aspects of this venue is the onsite lodging. My wedding party loved staying on property. It took away so much stress having everyone wake up on the property the day of the wedding. The Tupelo house was was the perfect canvas to design a gorgeous reception. It even stayed nice and cool inside for my June wedding! Could not recommend Lovingston more!

Our experience with Dover Hall was exceptional from start to finish. The venue itself is stunning and the level of care, professionalism and attention to detail from everyone we worked with there was unmatched. From our first tour of the venue we were blown away by the beauty of Dover Hall and all the unique areas it has for different parts of your wedding day and also by the level of hospitality – offering us champagne during the tour and giving us an amazing gift bag at the end of it. We had about 250 guests at our wedding and Dover Hall was more than able to accommodate this size. We planned to have our ceremony and cocktail hour outside, but it ended up raining on our wedding day, and they were able to seamlessly transition everything to be inside, without it impacting any other parts of the day. They did such an incredible job with it that we had so many guests who did not realize the ceremony and cocktail hour had not been planned to be inside all along. We had the pleasure of working with Rachel Kennedy as our event manager and she was an absolute joy to work with. She is truly one of the nicest people you could ever work with. From the moment we met, she was so friendly, kind and accommodating – always going out of her way to make sure we felt comfortable and taken care of – and her enthusiasm about everything is contagious. She was quick to respond, flexible with requests and genuinely cared about making everything perfect for us. Her positive attitude and warmth made our entire experience with Dover Hall such a positive one. Rachel was always willing to go above and beyond for us whether it was giving tours of the venue to our family members when they were in town visiting or coordinating phone calls with Dover Hall’s amazing chef to accommodate our guests’ dietary restrictions. And this level of care and thoughtfulness carried on past our wedding day – we went to one of Dover Hall’s wine dinners a few weeks after our wedding that Rachel was hosting. Rachel so welcoming and excited to see us, and she even snuck us each one of our signature cocktails from our wedding during the dinner. It was such a thoughtful gesture that meant so much to us. The entire staff at Dover Hall was incredible. Chef Leah is amazing – everything she makes is delicious, so we had the hardest time narrowing down our menu after our tasting with her. Every dish she makes is beautifully prepared and all of our guests were raving about the food at our wedding. We also stayed at Dover Hall the night of our wedding (and I stayed there with my sister the night before), which was such a great experience and something we would highly recommend. All of the staff made sure this experience was perfect, from the security guards there with us at night, to everyone checking in on us making sure all of our needs were met, to serving us the delicious breakfast that came with the overnight stay. We also had our rehearsal dinner at Bartizan, Dover Hall’s sister property, which was an equally wonderful experience, and we were lucky enough to work with Rachel for that as well. We highly recommend this venue to any couple looking for a truly luxurious and unforgettable wedding experience.

When I first arrived on the property to look at it, it was breathtaking so beautiful and so well kept, and obviously Lauren and Kara were so kind and sweet and so attentive to every single one of my requests and details. Fast-forward to wedding weekend, I had Kara and Lauren on speed dial if I needed anything and they were so helpful for any tiny request. I needed for my wedding party and family. The property is absolutely stunning. My wedding party and I stayed in the farmhouse the entire weekend from rehearsal dinner to a brunch on that Sunday and my friends, and I had the time of our lives. It was so accommodating to have family come from out of state. Be able to stay on the property in a nearby Airbnb that houses 20 people! I wasn’t worried about hotels, driving and transporting people or potentially having them drinking and driving. It was so nice to just be there the entire time. My friends and family have said that it was one of the best weddings that they have ever been to and I can concur that was the best wedding ever. I cannot recommend this place enough if you live in Maryland or nearby or somewhere on the East Coast or looking to do a destination wedding. This is your place to do it!!! I wish I could relive my wedding weekend. It was so magical and perfect and I could not have asked for anything more. Thank you Comus farms!

At the end of June 2025, my daughter held her wedding reception at Historic Jasmine. (We had purchased the Weekend Destination package, so my daughter and MANY of her friends enjoyed overnights at Historic Jasmine on Friday and Saturday with the main event held on Saturday.) If I could rate Historic Jasmine with 100 stars I would! From Day One of inquiring about Historic Jasmine, its manager, Ashton, was absolutely FANTASTIC! He remained that way throughout the ENTIRETY of the process as well as AFTERWARDS! Ashton's replies were ALWAYS incredibly prompt and thorough. He picked up on "implied tasks" and provided responses to those as well. He provided input to questions I asked that had nothing to do with Historic Jasmine but with weddings and receptions in general. He spent plenty of time with my daughter and me working out the details. He was ALWAYS willing to help and he always did! Ashton is the face of this family-run business. His fine character and stellar attitude epitomized that of his mom, dad, and brother who work so diligently behind the scenes, most often without notice. I am not exaggerating when I say, "The entire family is AMAZING, truly amazing!" (When I met the dad and brother, I felt as if I were speaking with Ashton! :)) Without doubt, Historic Jasmine reflects this family's time, effort, and attention to create a PHENOMENAL venue! It is a STUNNINGLY BEAUTIFUL place, outside and inside! GORGEOUS, VIBRANT landscaping surrounded by woods outside - historical and nostalgic decor inside mixed with modern conveniences (to include abundant bathrooms) - are at the ready to warmly welcome guests. Our caterer - Edwards Catering - was thrilled to learn we had contracted with Historic Jasmine. He has catered there for more than 15 years and greatly appreciates its setup for his services. Speaking of food, I am reminded that my daughter and her friends were pleasantly surprised to find coffee and breakfast items awaiting them in the kitchen in the morning - we did not know such was part of the weekend package so they were thrilled to discover such! I could go on and on about our positive experiences with Historic Jasmine! I will summarize by saying, in my opinion, having checked out a plethora of venues, Historic Jasmine was and is THE ABSOLUTE BEST VENUE! Without question, it is a reflection of the family who runs it, also THE ABSOLUTE BEST!

Our first experience with LFB was in November 2023 for a friend’s wedding. My boyfriend and I at the time had started talking about the next step and how perfect this location was for a wedding. We ended up reaching out to Duncan in February 2024 to ask for a tour. Duncan gave us the full tour including the on property guest house, and we were SOLD! We signed our contract and paid the deposit that weekend. Duncan and Suzanne are so wonderful to work with too! They work with you on breaking down payments for when things are due and respond within 24 hours. As we got closer to our wedding date Duncan let us come out and tour everything again and answered all of my last minute questions. Suzanne was amazing at communicating day of lists and clean up. During our set up on Friday, Duncan came over to make sure the AC was good and if we needed anything. They had the tables and chairs closet unlocked and ready for us to set up when we got there. They give you a 4 hour window for rehearsal time but are very willing to work with you if you need more. The day of our wedding they had onsite staff to help with any issues and make sure everything went smooth on their end. Duncan personally came over after our ceremony and congratulated us and joined our celebration for some pictures. If you want a nice quiet spacious venue with amazing views, perfect golden hour picture spots, and awesome owners this is your place! The Carolyn Baldwin Lake Pavilion is named after our dear loved one, Carolyn Varner Baldwin, who unexpectedly passed away in 2008 due to an allergic reaction. She was the matriarch of our family and a beautiful, one-in-a-billion type of person with a generous and loving spirit. She was a talented gardener, a devoted fisherwoman who could out-fish the best of 'em (we're talking "sun-up-til-sundown" kind of fishing), was creative and artsy, and never knew a stranger. We felt it only fitting to name this lovely place in her memory. We are a family-operated business. Joanna is the General Manager and works with each client to accommodate varying event needs. She handles a wide range of aspects of the business, from answering questions about what will make your event run smoothly to giving you layout suggestions. She has worked with over 200 wedding & event clients over the last 10 years and has learned quite a bit about weddings & event planning through her experiences.

We had an amazing experience at The Hatcher Farm! The venue truly had everything we needed and had thought of all the little details — from supplies to decorations — which made planning and the big day so much easier. Both the indoor and outdoor spaces were beautiful and worked perfectly for our wedding. Our guests loved the atmosphere, and it really felt like the whole day flowed seamlessly. The only thing I would suggest is having a bit more space in the bridal room, but overall, that’s such a small detail compared to how wonderful everything else was. We are so happy we chose The Hatcher Farm and would highly recommend it to any couple looking for a beautiful, well-prepared venue for their wedding!
