At the end of June 2025, my daughter held her wedding reception at Historic Jasmine. (We had purchased the Weekend Destination package, so my daughter and MANY of her friends enjoyed overnights at Historic Jasmine on Friday and Saturday with the main event held on Saturday.) If I could rate Historic Jasmine with 100 stars I would! From Day One of inquiring about Historic Jasmine, its manager, Ashton, was absolutely FANTASTIC! He remained that way throughout the ENTIRETY of the process as well as AFTERWARDS! Ashton's replies were ALWAYS incredibly prompt and thorough. He picked up on "implied tasks" and provided responses to those as well. He provided input to questions I asked that had nothing to do with Historic Jasmine but with weddings and receptions in general. He spent plenty of time with my daughter and me working out the details. He was ALWAYS willing to help and he always did! Ashton is the face of this family-run business. His fine character and stellar attitude epitomized that of his mom, dad, and brother who work so diligently behind the scenes, most often without notice. I am not exaggerating when I say, "The entire family is AMAZING, truly amazing!" (When I met the dad and brother, I felt as if I were speaking with Ashton! :)) Without doubt, Historic Jasmine reflects this family's time, effort, and attention to create a PHENOMENAL venue! It is a STUNNINGLY BEAUTIFUL place, outside and inside! GORGEOUS, VIBRANT landscaping surrounded by woods outside - historical and nostalgic decor inside mixed with modern conveniences (to include abundant bathrooms) - are at the ready to warmly welcome guests. Our caterer - Edwards Catering - was thrilled to learn we had contracted with Historic Jasmine. He has catered there for more than 15 years and greatly appreciates its setup for his services. Speaking of food, I am reminded that my daughter and her friends were pleasantly surprised to find coffee and breakfast items awaiting them in the kitchen in the morning - we did not know such was part of the weekend package so they were thrilled to discover such! I could go on and on about our positive experiences with Historic Jasmine! I will summarize by saying, in my opinion, having checked out a plethora of venues, Historic Jasmine was and is THE ABSOLUTE BEST VENUE! Without question, it is a reflection of the family who runs it, also THE ABSOLUTE BEST!

We recently got married at Gala 417, and the entire experience was fantastic! The venue is absolutely breathtaking, and our guests couldn’t stop raving about how stunning everything was. Working with the Gala 417 team, especially Sarah and Lyndsey, made the planning process enjoyable and stress-free. They were incredibly responsive and attentive, always quick to answer questions and ensure that our wedding day vision came to life in a way that felt uniquely ours. Lyndsey, our day-of coordinator, was amazing! She handled everything flawlessly throughout the morning and early afternoon, and we truly appreciated how well-organized and professional she was. Even though there were a couple of small bumps after her departure, such as the DJ needing a reminder for speeches, and a few of our selected beer options running out earlier than expected, the staff still managed to keep everything running smoothly. To future brides, I would recommend clearly emphasizing any specific beverage preferences during your catering and blueprint meetings if you or your guests have favorites to avoid any disappointments. We were especially excited about the food after trying it at our catering meeting—it was delicious, and we even bragged to our guests about it! However, on the day of the wedding, the food served was bland and inconsistently prepared. We had requested steaks to be cooked medium, but after the fact, many of our guests shared that their filets ranged from rare to well-done, with some even mentioning gristle or fat in the cut—which shouldn’t happen with a filet. This was a bit disappointing, especially considering how much we were looking forward to the meal. Overall, Gala 417 went above and beyond to make our wedding day truly unforgettable. We would absolutely recommend this venue to future couples—between the gorgeous space and the dedication of the staff, our wedding was everything we dreamed of and more. We are so grateful to the entire Gala 417 team for making our day so special!

This venue is stunning in photos but even more unbelievable in person. So much goes into wedding planning but working with Dover Hall made the process so much easier. From our first email to the end of the wedding reception, Dover Hall had nothing but top notch service. A special thank you to Emily and Stephanie for working so closely with us and answering countless emails. We also want to thank Asia and the catering staff at Dover Hall for making our guests truly feel like royalty on our day. Lewis Ginter Botanical Garden is a breathtaking wedding venue located in Richmond, Virginia. This unique space is open year-round and offers an incredibly romantic backdrop for any couple's celebration. Whatever the vision, there is something for every couple at this gorgeous location.

Why you'll love this venue

  • Has a relaxed and casual vibe
  • Classic, vintage atmosphere
  • Both indoor and outdoor options

Venue considerations

  • Not wheelchair accessible
  • Lighting and sound are not included
  • Does not provide event staff
We had a terrific experience working with Lewis Ginter to host our wedding. The event planning staff was great, from our initial inquiries, through the planning process, to the last few weeks leading up to our wedding getting all the details squared away. The Bloemendaal House was the perfect venue for us in that it allowed us to have an outdoor wedding near the city without having to pay to erect a tent ourselves. While we didn’t need it, the staff was ready to accommodate a rain plan and kept the setup flowing smoothly. The catering and bar service were excellent, and it was so convenient to work with a venue that has a great in-house caterer. They kindly fielded requests from us all the way up to our wedding week. We had many positive comments on the food from our guests, particularly the mini beef wellingtons and tomato soup! They were also happy to have us bring in a non-traditional dessert option (an ice cream wagon!). The staff also took care to bring us drinks and food as the bride and groom to make sure we were well taken care of.

Why you'll love this venue

  • Offers convenient lodging options
  • Space for a large guest list
  • Provides a dedicated team on-site

Venue considerations

  • Venue feels large for events with small guest lists
We had our daughter’s September 2025 wedding at Virginia Crossings in Glen Allen, Va (Richmond area). It is a boutique plantation-style hotel on 20 acres with a street lamp lined curving drive up to the main buildings. Our guests raved about the gorgeous estate-like grounds, the service, and the delicious, beautifully presented food. Many of our guests have lived in the Richmond area for years and never realized Virginia Crossings existed. It’s such a hidden gem! Chef Ashby knocked it out of the park with the cocktail hour hors d’oeuvres and plated dinner entrees. The portions were huge and so yummy! I’m still dreaming about the salmon with English pea puree and risotto. The wedding package prices are reasonable for what you get. Packages range from 110 to 140 per person (plus a 23% admin fee, taxes, and tips) and include a 4 hour open bar, 4 passed and 2 stationary hors d’oeuvres for cocktail hour, 3 course plated or buffet dinner, cake cutting, champagne toast for all guests, a Day of Coordinator and assistant, floor length linens and choice of napkin color, upgraded china, all glassware and silverware, tables and chairs, 5 hours of event time, ample getting ready spaces for both bridal parties, and a night’s stay in the Bridal Suite for the bride and groom. If you choose to have your ceremony on site, there is a 2000 site fee. You can get married in the lovely outdoor courtyard garden or other outdoor space, the interior Madison Lobby or in one of the smaller event rooms. Their rain plan is exceptional. It rained on my daughter’s wedding day, and they didn’t miss a beat. And because the interior spaces are so beautiful, there were plenty of spots for great pictures inside. Because the property has a hotel building, 2/3 of our 137 guests stayed on site for the whole weekend. Our family members who arrived on Thursday told us that the grounds crew was busy mowing, weeding, and trimming to make everything look perfect. And they saw cleaning crews in all the public areas scrubbing and polishing until the hotel sparkled. The hotel staff also handed out our Welcome Bags to our guests as they checked in. Without a doubt, the BEST thing about having a wedding at Virginia Crossings was working with Jeffery Ward in conference and event sales. He, his assistant Elise, and his staff worked incredibly hard to make our daughter’s wedding flow seamlessly. He managed all our vendors, ran the rehearsal, organized the bridal party, kept us on track with our timeline, and even helped bustle the bride’s dress. Jeffery also executed our vision for the cocktail hour and ballroom spaces flawlessly! When the doors to the ballroom opened for dinner, I rushed in so that I could see it all decorated before it filled with our guests. And it literally took my breath away! It was BEAUTIFUL!!! So romantic and dreamy!

My husband and I were so very lucky to have booked The Workshop by T&D as our wedding venue. It was the first and only place we looked at. I truly cannot say enough good things about it. Gorgeous on the inside and out. The venue itself is huge! It has everything you could possibly ever need. Kerith has done a wonderful job of putting together such a beautiful space not only for weddings but for other events as well. The pricing/packaging is quite reasonable and probably the best in RVA with the option to include a wedding planner/coordinator. DO NOT SKIP OUT ON THIS!!! I cannot say this enough our wedding day went seamlessly thanks our amazing wedding planner/coordinator Emma Wolff with Wolff Weddings & Events LLC. She was with us every single step of the way. From the time we booked the venue in October until the very end of our wedding night and then some. I was in no way stressed out about our wedding because of Emma. She is the best at her job and truly loves what she does. 10/10 stars for this venue and Emma.

One of the most important aspects we wanted in a venue was an option for indoor and/or outdoor space, and The Manor House offered both! Throughout the process of wedding planning, Peggy ensured that we had everything we needed to be successful. When the day finally came, she ensured that everything ran smoothly, and that we were taken care of. We cannot recommend the Manor House enough to any couples that are looking for a beautiful property and a wonderful manager!

Linden Row Inn, a historic wedding venue in Richmond, Virginia, is ideal for couples wishing to exchange vows in a setting steeped in history. Furnished with antiques from the middle and late 1800s, the venue is featured on the National Registry of Historic Places. A staple in the wedding industry for the over 30 years, Linden Row Inn is the perfect choice for capturing the importance of your special day!

Why you'll love this venue

  • Pets can join the celebration
  • Multiple event spaces

Venue considerations

  • No free parking
  • Does not provide event staff
  • No built-in audiovisual options
This is the perfect wedding venue if you want a historic venue and have a small to medium wedding! We had about 50 guests, and felt that it was the perfect amount for the space. The Linden Row team was a dream to work with! Alexa was incredibly responsive to all of our emails. Their partnership with Groovin’ Gourmets truly made our planning so much easier as the staff have great relationships and are used to working together. For all that was included, we felt the price was fair, however keep in mind that in the event of rain, you will also need to work with one of their approved tent vendors since there is not an adequate indoor space for a wedding. This is not their fault, but something we wished we talked through more in the early stages of planning! The room blocks were super easy to set up and we were given a log in to track who had already booked a room. For any guests that are staying in the hotel, it was easy for them to get breakfast on site. All of our guests said they loved their stay at Linden Row. There was another event in downtown Richmond the weekend of our wedding, so parking was a challenge, but again, it is not Linden Row’s fault, just something to keep in mind when booking a room or a wedding.

It wasn't just a venue; it felt like home and provided the perfect backdrop for one of the most important days of our lives. From our engagement photos to our rehearsal dinner and the wedding day itself, this stunning estate was a dream. We opted for the Friday early access package in addition to the overnight package, and it made all the difference. We got access to the Estate at 2pm on Friday and my bridesmaids and I were able to stay the night before, which transformed the wedding morning into a truly relaxing and joyous experience. We were able to handle all the final preparations on Friday, leaving Saturday morning completely stress-free. The true magic of this venue, however, lies with Kim and her team. They are, without a doubt, the best in the business. Their kindness, professionalism, incredible attention to detail, and seamless organization are unmatched. They truly think of everything, anticipating needs before you even realize you have them. Their guidance and support were a genuine blessing, allowing us to be fully present and enjoy every moment. My partner and I were recently had a Halloween wedding here, and I cannot recommend Hanover Tavern enough. Having an all-inclusive venue was so extremely helpful and took off a lot of stress when planning. The location is beautiful, especially if you're planning a Fall wedding. We rented the Coach House for our wedding, and had our ceremony in the courtyard. The Coach House has a nice rustic warm charm while still feeling modern. The history and theater of the venue is so cool and unique. They also recently installed a nice patio with a firepit and other heating elements. So our guests could mingle there comfortably in the chilly fall evening. Price was extremely fair, and there are many different options to fit your budget. We also felt extremely welcome as gay couple. The food is fantastic!!! All our guests were raving about the food. They have a wide range of options available. And the chef is extremely accommodating, we had a seasonal dessert and requested it again for our wedding. They knocked it out of the park. But the staff is really what makes Hanover Tavern special. Krissy, the day of coordinator, was so helpful, down to earth, and fun to work with! My family and wedding party loved her. and we always looked forward to our planning meetings. She was also extremely flexible, and helped make accommodations for our themed wedding. She was also very conscious of my Grandmother, who is getting quite up there in age, but still wanted to take part of all the fun! Krissy assisted her and really made her experience special. The event staff are extremely attentive and friendly, and its nice seeing the same group of people throughout the day. They maneuvered our guests around expertly, and even helped transition some of our decorations from outside to the reception without us even asking. They always have your wedding experience in mind, and will go above and beyond to make it special. Even when we had a costume piece break, without a second of hesitation, the staff whisked it away and gave it back to me fixed. I was incredibly touched. Shout out to Don the bartender, he was also excellent and brought an awesome energy to the event that my guests loved. I would recommend Hanover Tavern again and again. They really made our wedding something special :)

The Boathouse at Sunday Park was a fantastic choice for our small wedding. Their communication style was fast, clear, and email-only, which made coordinating all the details convenient but would have liked more phone conversations. The quality of their work and the overall value was exceptional - the space was clean, vibrant, and had an inviting atmosphere. One example of their great service was how they helped us resolve a contract conflict, showing their flexibility.

Nestled within over 100 acres, the heart of the campus is an early eighteenth century home surrounded by a collection of inviting living and entertaining spaces. A relaxed atmosphere with natural, organic elements and a modern edge, Seven Springs is the perfect backdrop for a wedding weekend getaway, farm to table dinner celebrations, and other collaborative community events.

  • Rustic charm with elegance
  • Provides a dedicated team on-site
  • Multiple event spaces

Venue considerations

  • No all-inclusive dining options
  • Large venue, not ideal for small guest lists
The perfect venue and team through and through! We spent our entire wedding weekend at Seven Springs, having our rehearsal dinner Friday evening in the Carriage House and staying on site throughout the weekend. It was an amazing location that had everything we wanted, and had plenty of space for our bridal party to stay on site as well. The venue goes above and beyond the stately driveway and Manor House – the outdoor ceremony site is immaculately maintained, the courtyard has the perfect blend of enchanting and cozy, and the pavilion provides a wonderful area for a reception. We received so many compliments on our wedding – and to us it was perfect! None of this would have been possible without Tracy and her team. Having Tracy as our day-of coordinator at Seven Springs was one of the best decisions of our entire wedding. She was immensely helpful in planning, providing multiple vendor recommendations and keeping track of decisions as they were made. Not only did she stay organized with layouts, timelines, and vendor communication – she provided a sense of relief for us and our family and friends. There was never a moment that Tracy wasn’t there to solve anything as it came up, and allowed our bridal party and family to enjoy our wedding more as guests than needing to help with anything. We are beyond grateful for all her hard work and the amazing team at Seven Springs! If you are searching for a venue that has an elevated farm-style atmosphere while still having cottage charm traits – this is the place. I cannot emphasize enough how brilliant our weekend was, and it will continue to hold a special place in our hearts!

I would recommend that anyone looking for a gorgeous and unique venue choose Avonlea Farms for their wedding as well! While we got a spot of rain during the reception, the pavilion and greenhouse thankfully kept everyone dry so the party could keep going. The bridal suite and groom’s cottage are perfect places to get ready, with plenty of space and all the amenities you could need! The lovely owners are also constantly making improvements, we were happily surprised with the addition of a paved path through the church pews and the new chandeliers in the vintage greenhouse. From our first tour of the property to the morning after the big day, the RSV team was incredibly easy to work with – helpful, kind, and professional every step of the way. The venue itself offers so much. In the days leading up to the wedding, the forecast was calling for rain, but we had total peace of mind knowing RSV has a beautiful permanent tent on-site that we could use as a backup ceremony location in addition to using it for the reception area. Thankfully, the weather held out and we were able to get married at their stunning waterfront ceremony site, it was such a breathtaking view! We stayed at the chateau on the property the night of our wedding and it was the perfect place to unwind after the big day. I will forever cherish returning to that beautiful farmhouse and decompressing there with our wedding party. The next morning we got up and had coffee on the back porch while watching the sheep and a few little lambs play in the field behind the house, it was pure bliss!
