“I first discovered Aly’s work months before I even got engaged. She had done a shoot with a hot air balloon — the entire wedding party gathered around it — and I remember thinking, wow, I want my wedding to feel like this. Fast forward to the night I got engaged: I immediately filled out Aly’s interest form. A few months before the wedding, Aly came to New York to shoot our engagement photos. From the moment she arrived, she felt like a longtime friend visiting us. We wandered around DUMBO, grabbed a hot dog from a nearby cart, followed by ice cream, and ended the day with a beer. We had just moved to Long Island and asked if she’d be comfortable taking a few photos of us in our new home with our dog. She was immediately game — and even stayed with us. That evening we shared dinner, lots of laughs, and conversations about family and life. The next morning, over coffee, she captured some of the most beautiful photos of us in our home. (While I treasure our wedding photos beyond words, those quiet morning photos are incredibly special to me.)
Then came the wedding day — October 2025. Aly and her assistant, Sidney, arrived at the venue and immediately got to work. I felt comfortable and fully present the entire time while she moved almost silently in the background. With so much pressure today to have an “Instagram-perfect” or overly curated wedding, my husband once asked me how I wanted our day to be remembered. My answer was simple: with love and fun. Aly captured that perfectly. She gave us images that will become family heirlooms. I can’t thank her enough.
