TLDR: Book Canyon and Pine if you want someone reliable, capable, and CRAZY talented (especially if you are an introvert!!). Emma SAVED our wedding from being ruined by a coordinator.
For context, I have been photographing portraits for 10 years and have photographed two weddings. There's a LOT that goes into both weddings and good photos so we (I, haha!) were really picky when choosing a wedding photographer.
From the moment we first connected with the team at Canyon & Pine, we knew we were in good hands. We were nervous about having photos taken but their friendly, cooperative, and personalized approach put us at ease throughout the entire wedding planning process. From day one, we felt incredibly comfortable coming to Emma with any and all concerns, questions, and ideas.
When you book with Canyon & Pine, you really are booking quality artistic storytelling. The personable, humorous, and down to Earth team shown on their website is exactly what you get in person.
We chose to book a package which included an engagement session in which Emma went above and beyond providing outfit suggestions, reminders, and other helpful guides to make our engagement session memorable and beautiful. She then drove out FIVE HOURS to meet us at sunset in Oklahoma and capture the most beautiful photos on top of a whole mountain! My husband and I are NOT camera people, I cannot stress how comfortable Emma made these two introverts.
I also did bridals with Emma. Trust me when I tell you NOBODY will make you feel more comfortable than she does. I was going through some major health issues at the time of my bridal portraits and just didn't feel or fully look like myself. Emma found a way to make me look stunning. -- I'm really proud of these photos and will show them to every and anyone who asks (or not, haha!). She truly helped me feel beautiful in front of the camera.
On the day of our wedding, Canyon & Pine's thoughtful and personable demeanor helped us stay calm and focused on enjoying the moment. The quality of their work was absolute perfection - they captured every detail with incredible precision. Nothing was overlooked and they took great care to make sure every single feeling was highlighted throughout the day (and there were a lot!). Special and priceless moments were constantly caught on camera despite the craziness of the day.
On our day, there was a significant issue with the coordinator that threatened to derail the whole wedding. Emma stepped in and saved the day, ensuring our wedding ran smoothly and playing the part of coordinator and photographer. She went above and beyond, considering every last detail and helping us have fun during incredibly stressful moments.
Because of Canyon and Pine, we can now look back on our wedding day and see it as beautiful, touching, memorable, and unforgettable instead of the disaster it surely would have been without Emma's help and knowledge.
We will be booking Canyon & Pine for all of our future photography needs, from family photos to pregnancy announcements.
