Josh Kuckens Photography

I've been making pictures since 2006. After pursuing a degree in Photojournalism from RIT, I've had a unique journey through the professional photographic world, from staff and freelance work for news outlets, to assisting and production roles on commercial, documentary and editorial projects. I enjoy photographing nature and the night sky, too, in addition to personal projects. I’ve basically always got a camera with me. Through all of this time I have also been photographing weddings, which I view as an assignment that requires me to employ skills from all of the different areas of photography I've worked in.

I think my range of experiences allows me to connect with most anyone, and go with the flow no matter what happens. Wedding days can sometimes get off schedule, but I firmly believe that you can't be late to your own wedding. I'll step in and give direction when it's needed for portraits or family pictures, but otherwise I am there to capture the day authentically. I settle in to the space with you and react to the wide range of emotions and energy throughout the day. Everybody has a different story to tell, and for me that is an exciting challenge to meet.
