“Let me start off by saying that I didn't think I "needed" a DJ for my wedding, so I didn't budget for one initially. It was about halfway through wedding planning that my now-husband and I decided we should invest in one, so it would be one less thing for us to have to do on our wedding day. Budget was super important to us when booking a DJ, but we also wanted someone who was experienced and knew what they were doing. The DJ Company of Virginia did not disappoint! Nikki and Devail helped me during the booking and planning process, and helped pick the right DJ to use for our venue. When planning, we were able to suggest a bunch of songs that both of us love and also got to make a list of any songs we didn't want to hear. Our guests were able to suggest songs on their own, and I gave those to the DJ beforehand (it was a question on our RSVP form). If you wanted your guests to suggest songs during the reception, I know they would be able to do that too! Jose was the DJ for our wedding and he was super friendly and easy to talk to! My husband and I did a "fake out" for our first dance, where we made it seem like we would do the standard slow dance, but then actually use a fun, upbeat song. Jose made sure he understood what we wanted and our guests LOVED it! Jose played so many songs that I like and love that I found myself on the dancefloor a bunch. I sure got in a workout! If you need a DJ in the Hampton Roads area, you should book the DJ Co. of VA. I wasn't sure we could afford a DJ for our wedding, but their prices were perfect for our needs! The MC's ad-libs got a little overbearing at times, but overall they did a nice job sticking to the schedule and making important announcements. “We had the pleasure of working with DJ Wong from MyDeejay. A quick review of MyDeejay: They were excellent to work with. They paired us with DJ Wong after we filled out a quick survey about the vibe we wanted for our wedding, and it was smooth sailing from there. It's clear from working DJ Wong that MyDeejay vets their DJs very well and ensures they're all professional and great to work with. Now for DJ Wong: He's got all of the main things you want in a vendor--professionalism, responsiveness, expertise, etc.), but he goes well above and beyond those standards. He provided ceremony music, background music, reception music, and uplighting, but that's just the starting point of everything he did for us. We were PICKY and we had A LOT of requests, and he accommodated them all flawlessly and eagerly. We requested he alter versions of some of our selected songs to adjust for timing, blending parts of songs together, and very particular transitions between songs. He made everything sound amazing! We had not 1, not 2, but FIVE choreographed dances throughout the evening, and he executed the timing of everything perfectly. The sound was incredible! In addition to that, because we were completely over-the-top for our wedding, DJ Wong so graciously and excitedly fulfilled our request to have KARAOKE at our reception. It was SO MUCH FUN!!! We had a very particular vibe in mind from our wedding--we wanted our ceremony, cocktail hour, and dinner to be classy and jazzy, and then for the reception dancing we wanted a mix of Pop anthems from the past 3 decades--DJ Wong understood the assignment perfectly! We were also at a very large venue and he had to provide sound across many different areas throughout the evening, but he came fully prepared and did an excellent job. We received so many compliments about the ambience for the entire evening, and we attribute that to him! On top of everything else, DJ Wong is an excellent MC and can read a room flawlessly. He kept the vibes up the entire evening, and struck the perfect balance of engaging with the audience and letting the music do the work. We are so grateful we had him for our special day!”

Jordan was amazing during the entire planning process, he always replied in a timely manner and made every little request I had seem like no biggie and made it happen! He provides access to an online portal (extremely cool!!) which gives you the opportunity to give him a general idea of the type of music you want and keeps things extremely organized...Now more importantly, he literally had the crowd on the dance floor the ENTIRE time... and I’m not exaggerating. (People were texting me days later that they’re sore from dancing the whole night!) He is able to read the crowd and deliver. Its been a few months since the wedding and I STILL receive compliments about the DJ - how incredible the music was and how awesome his lighting work was.
