I am Amanda. Your photographer. I am someone who shares emotions with you and puts her best foot forward to help you in any way I can. I love taking photos! Sometimes its posed, sweet and elegant, and sometimes its rigid, rough and beautiful. I always choose comfort over heels. Dress up, look cute, I'm there. My drink of choice is a vodka tonic, don't forget the LIME. But if I'm not on that train, I am sipping coffee (white chocolate mocha 2 shots) please! I love all things creative and chic. My favorite color is turquoise. Happiest when time calls for a family vacation. Shoutout to my two biggest supporters my husband and mom.

My name is Amanda Montgomery and I am Arrae Photography based out of Grand Rapids, Michigan. The name Arrae (pronounced [uh-rey]) came from my first initial and my middle name, Rae, added an extra r and made a new word. I wanted something unique that was also me, the idea came to mind one day and it just fit. Being a photographer is all I've ever wanted to do with my life. When I was 12 I saved up my babysitting money to buy my first 'big time' camera. I formed Arrae Photography in 2003 as a part-time venture while I worked at local photo labs, went full time in 2008.

I stumbled into it, literally. I had no plans to become a wedding photographer. I was either going to follow my dad’s path and go to dental school, or become a social worker. But a freshman in college decided to shoot a few photos for fun, and now over eight years and almost 200 weddings later, I could not imagine myself doing anything else. This is my dream job!
