We ended up booking him to provide music for our entire wedding day, from pre-ceremony music (played while guests were arriving and taking their seats) through the ceremony (including microphones for the officiant and groom) through cocktail hour, dinner, special dances and toasts, and the dance party portion of the reception. Joey’s attention to detail, including making sure he knew which specific versions of the songs we requested we wanted to play, and which music lined up with specific points in the schedule of events, was unmatched. Joey’s client portal made it easy to share our music choices for all these different parts of our big day. He paid close attention to our playlists/requests for the dance party while also mixing in some of his own selections, reading the room and ensuring everyone had something to dance to; this was especially impressive given that our guests ranged in age from infants to octogenarians! He was also sensitive to the nuances of a big family gathering: My dad and I don’t have a close relationship, so my mom and I did a mother-daughter dance in place of the traditional father-daughter one. When my dad put in a song request later in the evening, telling Joey he intended to ask me to dance with him to that song, Joey pulled me aside to make sure it was okay first before honoring the request.
