Kayla Plouffe Photography
Rating: 5.0 (2 reviews)
  • Photojournalistic style
  • Starts at $4,198
  • Serves Death Valley, CA

Hey, I’m Kayla! If you would like to get in touch with me, please fill out my contact form on my website! I am an adventure elopement and intimate wedding photographer currently based in Mammoth Lakes, California. I grew up surrounded by the Sequoia National Forest in the southern Sierra Nevada mountains of California, which sparked a deep love of nature from a young age. That, combined with the forever soft spot I have in my heart for the unique and nontraditional, is how I came to shoot stress-free and adventure filled weddings across the United States and beyond.

I cannot say enough amazing things about Kayla. Our experience with her as both our engagement and wedding photographer was absolute perfection from start to finish. Even her website and intake process set the tone — thoughtful, clear, and organized. Her phenomenal talent for capturing authentic moments is matched only by her professionalism, preparation, communication, sense of adventure, and genuine warmth. We first discovered Kayla when my fiancé tried to book her last minute for the proposal. She was already booked (thanks to his last-minute planning!), but he loved her style so much that he shared her work with me afterward. We reached out, filled out her inquiry form, had a “get to know you” call, and immediately knew she was the one. She selected the most stunning locations for our adventure engagement shoot — all while accommodating my fiancé’s recent injury and planning thoughtful backup options in case of bad weather. This was our first time ever taking professional photos, and Kayla made us feel completely at ease. She created this magical little love bubble for us, made us laugh, and turned the whole experience into an absolute blast — which meant genuine, beautiful, joyful photos. She even went above and beyond to meet our high-energy, reactive dog ahead of time so he could comfortably be part of the shoot. After our engagement session, there was no question who we wanted to capture our big Southern California NYE wedding — and the “just married” adventure shoot we planned on the ski mountain afterward. It had to be Kayla. For our 150 person wedding, Kayla and Pat made both of us feel relaxed and somehow like Vogue models at the same time. They put all of our family and friends at ease in front of the camera and managed group photos with such confidence, grace, and efficiency — even in the pouring rain! Kayla kept us on time, kept the energy high, and made it all so fun. They also celebrated with us on the dance floor, blending right in with our guests while still capturing every moment we hoped for (and plenty of artistic, unexpected shots we didn’t even know we needed). A few days later, Kayla met us on the ski slopes — on a windy white-out day — and still managed to deliver the most amazing “just married” photos, adapting to the weather, group dynamics, and our skiing abilities with ease. Truly, you’d be silly not to book Kayla. She is a rare combination of talent, heart, and positive energy, and we are endlessly grateful she was the one to document our story.

Desert Paintbrush Photography
Rating: 5.0 (2 reviews)
  • Photojournalistic style
  • Serves Death Valley, CA

I help couples create and document unforgettable wedding experiences in some of the most breathtaking landscapes in the West. With years of experience photographing elopements and weddings in the Sierra and the Southwest, I know these places like the back of my hand. Whether you're drawn to the alpine lakes and rugged peaks of Mammoth or the towering red rock cliffs of Zion, I’ll help you navigate every detail—finding the perfect ceremony spot, timing your day for the best light, and even pivoting plans if Mother Nature throws us a curveball.

I've had the pleasure of being photographed by Jaymie and working alongside her as an assistant photographer. As a couple, my husband and I were super comfortable in front of her camera. She made us feel at ease despite the freezing temperatures. As a fellow wedding vendor, I've seen first hand the care she brings to her work. She is kind and energetic with her clients, well-organized on otherwise chaotic wedding days, extremely knowledgeable of the Eastern Sierra, and an amazing photographer!

Hiring Eivan’s for our wedding was a great decision! Our photographer Gregory I was professional and FUN! He kept us smiling throughout the day with his quirky personality! My fiancé does not care for photos so I’m happy we had someone working with us who could make him comfortable. He made sure to get multiple images even if it was just “one more”, it was never one more! We had actually hired a different photographer and we replaced him with this company. Worth the stress and money! If I had any tips for the company, it would be to have your photographers give a 30 minute warning before their contracted time is up. Weddings are so busy for the bride and groom, it is very easy to lose track of time. I think clients would appreciate a little heads up just so they can try and capture any photos they may have missed. Other than that, I have ZERO complaints. Such an amazing experience! 10/10 highly recommend :)

At The Photography Friend, we specialize in wedding photography that feels as natural and genuine as your love story. Our approach is centered on capturing real emotions and candid moments, ensuring that every laugh, tear, and tender glance is preserved authentically. We believe in creating a relaxed environment where you can be yourselves, allowing us to document your day as it naturally unfolds.

I was nervous about spending money on wedding photos and video because everything else already felt so expensive. But let me tell you, this was worth every single second and every penny. When I saw the finished photos, I gasped. It didn’t feel staged or forced, it just felt like us. They captured every laugh, every tear, even the little side glances we gave each other when no one was looking. The video made me feel like I was watching the best movie of my life, except it was my life. My family cried, my friends cheered, and even my grandma who doesn’t like technology said it was beautiful. That meant everything to me. They didn’t just take pictures, they gave us something we can hold onto forever. I’ll never stop being thankful for that.

My name is Ali Cushing; a NY-based photographer working in a blended documentary and editorial approach, emphasized with a cinematic method, and a personalized, true to life editing style. I am honored to be entrusted with depicting genuine love, authentic characters, and immortalizing precious memories. I see beauty in the subtle details as much as the wide, epic scene, while I see glory in the mundane in-between moments as much as the heart thudding highs. I am adamant that everyone, of all genders and orientations, any ethnicity, culture, or faith, all shapes, ages, and abilities, are welcome and I’d be delighted to work with you.

Awarded Best of Zola
I couldn’t be happier with my experience working with Ali! She reached out to me on Zola and I am so glad she did. I was impressed with her portfolio and I really loved seeing how she would capture little moments in the weddings she had done. We set up a video call before booking and we clicked. She is very calm and helped with my pre-wedding nerves. She worked with us on a payment plan and she was always very quick to respond to any of my questions. She really listened to what we wanted. She got to the venue early to scout out different shots and came to check in with me a couple of times before we even began taking photos, which I did not expect but was very sweet and considerate of her. When we were taking photos, she really helped to guide the more “posed” photos but she also captured a lot of beautiful candid moments. We had so many guests come up to us and compliment her and that was before we even got the photos back. She sent us our sneak peeks the next day and I couldn’t be more thrilled with the results. She captured so many beautiful moments and her style is exactly what we wanted. Nothing felt “overly edited” just perfectly genuine. I cannot recommend Ali enough. I cannot wait to see the full gallery of photos because I know they will be nothing short of perfect.

Madison is soooo talented!! We first worked with Madison for our engagement shoot. It was our first time doing a professional photoshoot and she was able to make us feel comfortable and calm during the shoot. She shot our engagement shoot on film and it was beautiful. We loved working with Madison so much that we wanted her for our traditional tea ceremony and our wedding day. During our tea ceremony she was familiar with the culture and she offered to help when things were hectic. She was super professional and I loved how the photos turned out! Madison also did our wedding day and from the beginning she was on time, very professional, and kind. I gave her my Pinterest inspiration board and she was fully able to execute all my inspirations and more! During my wedding she was able to keep us on track of time and communicate to everyone. She even helped pin my veil when it was falling off or offered to hold my train. We also got our photo preview back the day after our wedding and WOW we were blown away. The photos really captured such a beautiful day and the raw emotions. I would 1000% recommend Madison to all of our family and friends. She is so professional and her work is beautiful!! Thank you so much Madison!

“True Light” is the perfect name for Calea’s photography business as she absolutely embodies this. From the moment Calea arrived she exuded such a warm, calming presence that made me and my whole family feel totally comfortable, which was so important especially while I was getting ready and the nerves were getting to me. She was stellar at coordinating with the videographers, and when she had me and my husband “model” for her it was very clear how to pose and I must say, the photos look incredible. She has a beautiful eye. Right after the wedding she started sending us shots and posting on Instagram which was so fun to see, and she get us our full gallery well before the three week timeframe. The photos are absolutely stunning and perfectly capture the warmth, love and beauty of the day. We are so so happy! 10/10 would recommend Calea, she is the best!

Weddings by Katherine Marchand
Rating: 5.0 (24 reviews)
  • Editorial style
  • Starts at $4,000
  • Serves Death Valley, CA

I'm Katherine, a wedding photographer based in Oakland, CA. With over a decade of experience and features in Vogue, Brides, The New York Times, and more, I know how to create wedding photos that don’t just look stunning — they feel like you. No trendy filters, no forced poses, just authentic moments that reflect who you are. I believe the best moments aren’t staged. They unfold naturally, in the quiet glances, the belly laughs, and those unspoken connections shared with your loved ones. My goal is to capture those raw, in-between moments that truly make your wedding day yours!

Awarded Best of Zola
Where to even begin! Investing in Katherine to do our wedding photos for our August 2021 wedding was the best decision we made, other than getting married! She had done a friends' wedding so I had started following her on instagram long before my husband and I got engaged. We were planning our wedding back west, and so we started looking at photographers back there but I just couldn't find anyone who measured up to Katherine. Listen--if you want "trendy" photos for instagram with lots of filters, orange skin tones, poses, etc--then Katherine isn't for you. But if you want photos that truly capture your day how it really was, then look no further. I spent years pouring over my parents' and grandparents' wedding albums wanting something that felt that classic and real. And real is exactly what Katherine does. She has this amazing ability to be everywhere and no where all at once. I have been in a lot of weddings, seen a lot of wedding albums, and I have never seen a photographer capture candids as well as she does--the photos feel like screenshots from a movie where we look happy and fabulous all of the time! She truly has a photojournalistic approach. She caught every teary hug, hand squeeze, and glance from across the room. And her ability to make every type of light work to her advantage (harsh mid-day, dark dance floor, etc) is truly incredible. And don't worry--she will also get all of those family photos that your parents want and do it in a painless, seamless way! While we were initially hesitant about the cost of hiring a photographer from NYC to shoot a wedding back west, her prices are MORE than fair for what you are getting! She even did a mini shoot with us the night before to get us comfortable in front of the camera and they are some of my favorite photos from the weekend. Also--she made everyone feel so relaxed and comfortable the day of. My bridesmaids were obsessed with her (I mean how could you not be? She shows up in a gucci suit with effortless cool girl energy and is like "let's do this!"), she managed wrangling our very large wedding party with ease and even got my grandma to smile in photos which is a big deal! We woke up the next day to about 15 sneak peak photos from the night before, and had our entire wedding album in 6 weeks! The hardest part is choosing which photos to print! There are just too many that we love. TLDR: Hire this girl, she is smart as a whip, reliable, talented, and a consummate professional!

When searching for a photographer, I was overwhelmed by the number of options available. Dominique didn’t make me feel pressured. She provided us with her wedding guide, which gave us insight into who she is. When we met remotely, I instantly knew she was the one. She was enthusiastic, listened attentively, and asked us questions about what is important to us leading up to the wedding and beyond. She was great to work with, and I knew what to expect. She drafted our timeline, offered recommendations, and helped us design it based on what was important to my husband and me. She curated a family shot list, and let me tell you, she did not disappoint. Her and her team were amazing.

We had the best experience with Michael for my parents’ vow renewal. He was kind, funny, and made everyone comfortable in front of the camera. It felt like having family there. He was attentive, on time, and captured every special moment beautifully. The photos truly reflect the love and joy of the day. Highly recommend!

Hello there! I'm Andrea, owner of Amative Creative, and every weekend we're so blessed to be able to tell the love stories of so many amazing couples. Like many others in this industry might say, we simply adore weddings. But what makes us a little different is our entire brand is centered around telling love stories specifically curated to reflect your vision and aesthetic. "Amative" means to be prone to love, so as you can see, we want nothing more than to tell your love story! But what makes us truly unique is that we understand every love story looks different. And we personalize every aspect of how we document your wedding day!

We had a great experience with Amative Creative for our wedding! One thing that really made them stand out was that they offer so many different editing styles to choose from, so we were able to pick exactly the look we wanted. They also got our photos back to us super quickly—about a week after the wedding—which was such a nice surprise. The photos turned out beautiful and they captured all the big moments and some great candid shots. I especially love how cool the dance floor shots turned out. We received tons of compliments on the pictures! Highly recommend!

We were thrilled with the service we received from A Perfect Impression for our wedding photography. From the very beginning, Carl and his team were quick to respond, clear in their communication, and highly professional. They demonstrated true enthusiasm for capturing our special day, and their patience and creativity shone through in the final photos. Carl even provided us with a few photos by the end of the night, which was such a thoughtful gesture to tide us over until the rest were edited. Carl was also incredibly friendly, which put us at ease throughout the process. We couldn't be happier with the value and quality of their work, and we highly recommend A Perfect Impression to any couple planning their wedding.
