“K was an absolute DREAM to work with! K was our marriage officiant, and she made everything easy for us. She was incredibly kind and thoughtful, while also being a gifted writer who was able to share my and my husband’s love for each other during the ceremony. She interviewed my husband and I separately to get our thoughts on our relationship, and then put together the most wonderful ceremony for us, using the same communication style we used. We had many people tell us it was one of the best wedding ceremonies they had heard. She included so many details about our relationship that were meaningful to us. She helped us decide on things like how we wanted to be announced at the end of the ceremony and other things we hadn’t even thought about, so all of the “smaller” details were special to us, too. The picture I'm including shows how much we enjoyed the ceremony she put together! On the administrative side, she walked us through how to get a marriage certificate, and after the wedding, handled sending it in for us. Also, when she had an emergency come up and wasn’t able to attend our rehearsal, she was insistent on lowering her fee, since we originally planned for her to be there. It was unnecessary, as we understood things happen, but she insisted. Just another example of how wonderful and fair a person she is to work with. I can’t imagine anyone else having made our ceremony as special for us as K did.”

Catholic Contemporary And Traditional Weddings

“My partner and I are a same-sex couple who both come from Catholic backgrounds. Although we decided to have a garden ceremony and not a church ceremony, it was important for our families to feel at home. Our initial ask of Fr. David was not to officiate our ceremony (because we had a courthouse ceremony also planned), but to deliver a homily. However, over time, my and my partner's plans expanded slightly to include other aspects of a traditional Catholic wedding (blessings for the parents and godparents, the cord ceremony, etc.). Fr. David was more than accommodating and so supportive throughout our journey. With his support and understanding, we felt very comfortable incorporating these aspects of tradition that mean so much to us and our families, while still making the ceremony uniquely our own.
