Holly and Jim are a husband and wife photographic duo in Schoharie County NY, covering the Catskills, Hudson Valley and Upstate NY Capital Region. We primarily do photography in the Catskill Mountains, Adirondacks, Saratoga Springs, Albany, Hudson Valley, Berkshires, Poconos & Vermont Green Mountain areas.

OOTO was such a joy to work with for our December wedding! They were quick to respond to our inquiries and were professional and easy going which really helped to put our minds at ease! The day of the wedding, we received really helpful direction and Holly had some really creative ideas which resulted in beautiful photos. They were also on time despite a bad snow storm the night before which we're really grateful for! 10/10 would recommend them!

Holly from Out of the Ordinary Photography was a wonderful communicator throughout the entire wedding planning process. She and her husband worked seamlessly as a team to capture all of the special moments of our big day. The quality of their photography was excellent, and they managed to immortalize many beautiful and precious memories for us. While we did forget to get a few formal photos with our guests in the excitement of the day, Holly was proactive in making sure we got the majority of the shots we wanted. I would definitely recommend Out of the Ordinary Photography to other couples looking for an experienced and talented photography team to document their wedding.

We’ve got a lot to say about Holly and Jim and it’s all absolutely glowing. From the moment Holly and Jim came to meet us for our engagement photos, we’d picked Central Park, we knew we were in incredibly capable and warm hands. Our wedding was upstate in Jefferson, New York in October 2024 was exactly what we imagined (read meticulously planned), and a huge part of that was captured flawlessly by these two talented photographers. Holly and Jim's ability to blend seamlessly into the background while still managing to capture every precious moment is astounding. They paired their prior experiences at our venue with an uncanny knack for anticipating those fleeting, beautiful instances – a loving glance, close ups on our meaningful mementos, the joy radiating from our guests. They didn't just take pictures; they told the story of how our day came together from both sides of the aisle. The photos themselves are breathtaking. The lighting, the composition, even the curation of selects afterwards – everything was absolutely professional. They managed to encapsulate the rustic charm of the venue, the vibrance of autumn in the Catskills, while also highlighting the intimate and personal moments that made our wedding so uniquely ours. From lakeside portraits in the afternoon sun, to raucous groups on the dance floor, to fireworks later that night — they had it covered from the perfect angle without ever being in the way. Beyond their technical expertise, Holly and Jim are simply wonderful people. They are kind, patient, and genuinely passionate about their craft. They were accommodating with our budget, and frankly, generous with helping us make the most of it. Holly is sharp and reassuring, she was particularly proactive with recommending local resources like a videographer. Jim is calm and easygoing, even offering to ride along with the guys from the AirBnB to the venue. If you're looking for wedding photographers who will not only deliver stunning images but also keep your day from feeling as crazy as it certainly is, look no further than Out of the Ordinary. They really are, well, it’s right there in the name. We are forever grateful for the beautiful memories they have given us. We couldn't recommend them highly enough!

Out of the Ordinary Photography was an absolute pleasure to work with for our wedding day. Their communication style was quick, easy, and extremely helpful throughout the entire process. Holly, our main point of contact, was responsive to my many emails prior to the wedding and provided great guidance on pre-wedding decisions. On the day of, the photographers seamlessly blended into the background and helped ensure our day went smoothly from start to finish.
