Shelby Hunter
I created Dear Heart Film + Portraits in college when I realized just how much I love photographing other people. It started with fun-loving seniors and now has developed into capturing adventurous couples who are so unashamedly in love.
From the day we sign our contract, we're a team and I'll be there for you with whatever you need. I help with creating your timeline, providing location and outfit guidance for your engagement shoot, and answering any questions you have along the way.

The Best Photographer!
We truly cannot say enough incredible things about Shelby! From the very beginning, she went above and beyond anything we could have imagined. From our engagement shoot to our wedding day- she captured all the important moments and little details. Our wedding day was a beautiful snowy winter wonderland, and Shelby handled it like an absolute pro. Not only did she embrace the snowy weather, but she made it feel magical. She captured the most stunning shots in the middle of it all. The way she used the snow made our photos look straight out of a fairytale. Beyond her incredible talent, Shelby was organized, supportive, and genuinely invested in making our day perfect. She helped keep everything running smoothly and made us feel completely comfortable in front of the camera. When we received our sneak peeks, we were blown away. We love each and every picture and look at the album literally everyday. We are recommending Shelby to everyone we know. If you’re considering Shelby for your wedding, do it! Five stars truly aren’t enough.

We absolutely loved having Shelby as our wedding photographer! She is super genuine and easy to be around, so even if you’re feeling camera shy she’ll find a way to get the shot. We were impressed with her directions too, especially in the big family photos, where she made sure everyone was looking at the camera and had their hands strategically placed. Also how did she remember everyone’s names? This girl is good!

Shelby (Dear Heart Film Portraits) was an absolute joy to work with for our wedding. From the very first interaction, we were struck by her friendly, personable, and fun personality. Shelby's sweet, calming nature was so amazing in helping my husband and I feel relaxed and present on our wedding day. Weddings can be chaotic, but Shelby brought an energy that slowed everything down and made taking photos fun and easy. She even went above and beyond to help the groomsmen with their boutonnieres when no one else knew how. Shelby is truly a wonderful, talented person, and her work is simply stunning, she captured our special day in the most beautiful way. All of our guests loved her too, they kept telling us how impressed they were with her. We're so grateful we found Dear Heart Film Portraits and would recommend them to anyone looking for an amazing photographer.

If you want authentic, beautiful photos done by someone who truly cares about what she does, Shelby is the one you want! From the moment we set up our first call with us it was clear that she really wanted to get to know what makes my husband and I, us. This lead to some amazing photos for both our engagement and wedding. She was so efficient through out the whole process and her timeline was flawless. I can not recommend her enough! I can't wait to get back our wedding video because I know that it will be just as amazing as our photos.
