We used Makayla as our wedding photographer in April of this year. Makayla was an absolute joy to work with. From our very first interaction she was warm and professional. We had an initial phone consultation to go over my vision and she was so great to talk to and helped me figure out what I wanted. Leading up to the wedding, Makayla was so great at texting me and having phone calls to make sure we had all the details down. She always offered help and made the whole experience so easy. On the wedding day she arrived early and ready to go. I am so glad we chose her! She had such a good understanding of what kind of pictures I wanted and made sure to get every shot. I would recommend Makayla to anyone looking for a professional, friendly, and incredibly talented photographer. Thank you again Makayla!!

Jen Peterson Photography
Rating: 5.0 (2 reviews)
  • Classic style
  • Starts at $4,200
  • Serves Project City, CA

HELLO THERE! I’m Jen! A Portrait, Wedding, and Real Estate photographer located in the beautiful Northern California area. With many years of experience and a consistent style; I deliver images that are radiant, joyful, and everlasting. But even more than the photos I deliver, I believe that my clients deserve the BEST photographic EXPERIENCE possible. I am a mom and step-mom to four beautiful children and am a devoted wife to Matt (who is also my second shooter on wedding days as a matter of fact!). I’m so excited that you stopped by, I would love to learn more about you!

My husband and I recently had the privilege of working along Jen and her husband Matt as our wedding photographers. A week before our wedding, we received some unfortunate news that our original photographer was no longer able to shoot our wedding, based on an unfortunate situation. Immediately, she reassured me that we would be in the best hands with Jen Peterson Photography. As you can imagine, that's a lot to take in so close to your wedding day, but as soon as I spoke to Jen on the phone (whom I've never met), all my nerves slipped away! It was as though I had known her for years. She truly is the most kindhearted, genuine, and uplifting person I've ever had a chance to work with! The fact the her and Matt graciously agreed to shoot our wedding, no questions asked and so last minute, speaks of their character. Fast forward to our wedding, they far exceeded every expectation we had! From wrangling in two extended families, to dealing with the sweltering summer heat, nothing stopped them. Throughout the entire day, she made sure EVERY photo was perfect. Also, I can honestly say that in all the weddings I've attended, I never witnessed a photographer mingle amongst the guests to take their photo's to help the bride and groom relive their special day. While we were eating, Jen and Matt choose to take a break, instead, they captured so many wonderful, memorable photos of our guests that I am forever grateful for! Small details such as those are things you don't think to ask for, but they they took the initiative, and for that, I can not thank them enough. After our wedding, I was equally as impressed by how quickly Jen submitted our proofs to us. Upon reviewing them, EVERY single moment of our day was captured. The quality of our photos were breathtaking! Please do yourself a favor and use Jen Peterson Photography for your special day. You will be thoroughly impressed by their expertise , quality of work, and as a result, you'll be gifted the most amazing photos to look back on for years to come.

I hired Vic to photograph my bridal shower based on some recommendations on FaceBook! I took one look at her portfolio and knew that she was talented. She made the booking process super easy and was reachable via Email and Text. She formalized the agreement via contract which was very professional and helped me guarantee that she would be committed to my event. On the day of the event, she went above and beyond. She helped calm me as we were running a bit late but she kept things moving the whole event. She captured photos of me, my guests, and got detailed shots of all our decorations. Our guests loved that she offered pointers on how to pose and stand. Not to mention she took several photos of every shot - I’ve worked with photographers in the past who will only take 1 shot, but not Vic! After the event, she gave me all the unedited photos within 48 hours which was a HUGE win! She captured around 700 photos of my 2 hour event - I was stunned in the best way. Overall, working with her was a dream and I cannot wait to hire her for my next event.

From the moment we booked So Behold This Inc., Johnny was present and responsive throughout the whole process. Johnny and Algre were the calm to our big day - the pictures they captured were true pieces of artwork, and the candids they caught were incredible. Hi! My name is Madison, but you can call me Maddi. Raised in Maryland, I've lived in Colorado, South Dakota, and Germany. I now live in San Diego with my husband and our two dogs. I've always had a love for photography and I feel privileged to bring my passion to life. I want my photos to capture the genuine feeling of the moment and to reflect you and your story.

Awarded Best of Zola
Madison's not just someone with a camera and capability, she's a photographer with a natural good eye as well. We appreciated her clean subject alignments/angles and more true-to-color editing and were very impressed by the pictures we got back from reception, where we had pretty complex indoor lighting: A whole wall of windows behind us most of the time and then dark brown ballroom lighting into the evening (@Loews Hotel). Not to mention, we asked her to minimize using flash as a personal preference and she was so receptive and remembering of that too. Communicating with her was like talking to a friend. She was responsive, engaged, and inclusive. Could go on and on, but her images speak for themselves because she is consistent both in her photography style as well as personality!

So, so thankful we went with Calea as our wedding photographer. She was the first person we interviewed and the last. As soon as we spoke with her I knew it was going to be a perfect fit. She’s professional, she’s fun, she’s knowledgeable, she’s helpful, and absolutely amazing at what she does. I am incredibly happy with the way our photos turned out and how she captured our day. She showed up to our wedding a half hour earlier than her scheduled time to make sure she was all situated and familiar with the venue and made sure we stayed on track with all the photos we wanted to get throughout the night. She was such a positive part of our day and meshed perfectly with our families and friends. We had so many people at our wedding compliment the photographer and her presence at our wedding. She flew under the radar while capturing crucial moments and interacted with our guests and family when needed. She made it fun! She laughed, she cried, and she truly felt like family while she was there with us. Her passion for her work is clear and she truly gets to know the style and vibe of her clients! Thank you Calea, we will always look back on our photos with such love and joy in our hearts thanks to you!!!

Love Knot Photography

Hi, I’m Isaac. In my world, light is everything. The cool ambient hues at dawn, hinting at what the day may bring. Golden sun rays catching particles through a tree as friends gathers to celebrate. A Cotton candy sunset peppered by patio string-lights as a DJ plays my favorite song. We all have timeless memories logged in our minds. For me, they are based in a language of light. As a wedding photographer, this deep connection to special lighting helps me produce dynamic visual stories of romance, personality and beauty.

Awarded Best of Zola
A few things that stood out the most about Isaac were how responsive he was, how he was able to accommodate to our budget, and how he took pictures from angles and views that turned out great on the photos. As a couple with demanding careers, I much appreciated how quickly Isaac was with replying to emails. We had a pretty tight budget, and Isaac was able to offer us a package that landed pretty close to our budget and only had the items that we needed the most (mini engagement photoshoot for the website and wedding day). Our ask for him was to get some candid shots as we feel pretty awkward in front of the camera. I personally think that the wedding day pictures came out more naturally because of the setting being surrounded with friends and families, and Isaac and Sushen did a great job capturing the candid moments beautifully. Isaac even had an idea for me to pose by climbing up a wooden stair ladder for a shot that I honestly wasn't sure how it was going to turn out while doing it, but it ended up turning out beautiful and magazine-like in addition to other ones that he asked us to pose for. Isaac put together a behind the scenes video that also showed the reactions of guests to our photo place cards before we had entered the reception area, and this was lovely in that we got to see our guests' reactions that we weren't able to see.

I'm Katherine, a wedding photographer based in Oakland, CA. With over a decade of experience and features in Vogue, Brides, The New York Times, and more, I know how to create wedding photos that don’t just look stunning — they feel like you. No trendy filters, no forced poses, just authentic moments that reflect who you are. I believe the best moments aren’t staged. They unfold naturally, in the quiet glances, the belly laughs, and those unspoken connections shared with your loved ones. My goal is to capture those raw, in-between moments that truly make your wedding day yours!

Awarded Best of Zola
Katherine helped us capture our civil ceremony at SF City Hall and we couldn't have been luckier to find her! She is incredibly fun, professional, organized, and delivered everything exactly as she described. A few things we especially appreciated was that since we had a full destination wedding planned a couple months later, she was very mindful of our budget and worked with us to still get what we were wanting for the civil ceremony. She also created a fantastic guide to SF City Hall Weddings that she sent early and to help get us prepared. And she's very thorough and communicative; she responds to emails promptly and if there was even a slight delay in delivering anything she told us immediately. And of course the photos turned out beautifully! Overall, we just loved her energy. Since she set up a video call before our date to get to know us and what we were looking for, it was like meeting an old friend when the day came. She was so easy to work with and we felt immediately comfortable with her. I can only imagine what a joy she is to have for a full wedding! We highly recommend working with Katherine!

When searching for a photographer, I was overwhelmed by the number of options available. Dominique didn’t make me feel pressured. She provided us with her wedding guide, which gave us insight into who she is. When we met remotely, I instantly knew she was the one. She was enthusiastic, listened attentively, and asked us questions about what is important to us leading up to the wedding and beyond. She was great to work with, and I knew what to expect. She drafted our timeline, offered recommendations, and helped us design it based on what was important to my husband and me. She curated a family shot list, and let me tell you, she did not disappoint. Her and her team were amazing.

This has taken me a little while to get to writing as after wedding day life has been a little chaotic but wanted to express praise where it was well deserved. Holly exceeded my husband and I's expectations as our photographer on our wedding day. Not only was she extremely professional, but she was kind, personable and very helpful. The photos ended up coming out GORGEOUS! We just could not be happier with her and are definitely going to be recommending her to anyone seeking a photographer.
