Zoe has been studying the violin for over 20 years. Her education includes a Bachelor of Arts in Violin Performance from the College of Charleston where she studied under Charleston Symphony Concertmaster, Yuriy Bekker. She then continued her education in Arizona, receiving a Masters of Music Degree in Violin from Northern Arizona University. Zoe was recipient of the Gates-Taylor Award by the NAU School of Music and received the Mary Stewart Allen Award for Violin and Most Outstanding Music Award by the CofC School of the Arts.

What separates her from the rest of the pretty girls that can sing is her musical studies: Kaila studied classical and jazz theory with an emphasis on Vocal Techniques, Music Business and Live Sound Set-up.

Motown Throwdown is a powerhouse soul band steeped in the traditions of soul, funk, pop, rock, R&B, and jazz. The 5-piece funk machine consists of siren Aisha Kenyetta, sax-man and vocalist Mike Quinn, guitarist Dave Grimm, Stuart White on drums and the inimitable Corey Stephens on bass. With roots in the soul tradition of Motown, the Throwdown often defies genres or category, exploding into improvisation.
