This historic lakefront estate provides a serene setting for special wedding celebrations.

When you arrive at the Historic Lakefront Estate’s magnificent 3.2-acre property, you will find a venue defined by its sense of tranquility. Built in 1924, the main building has received loving restorations to ensure the facilities feature all the necessary amenities to make your stay comfortable from start to finish. Couples can begin their vow exchange on the lawn, which is enveloped by oak trees. From here, the cocktail hour can be hosted on the pool deck. An outdoor kitchen and covered awning make it ideal for outdoor celebrations. The estate is also home to a number of indoor event rooms for couples who wish to host their wedding inside, and offers access to dressing rooms to make getting ready for the big day simple.

    Lake Lucy Estates is a stunning property, but the way our wedding was handled still makes me sick to my stomach to think about. From the very first walkthrough I pointed out the dead grass, piles of leaves, and multiple ant piles exactly where our guests would be sitting. I brought it up again and again before the wedding and was repeatedly assured it would all be taken care of. We arrived the day before and it was basically untouched. Ant piles everywhere. Someone came the morning of the wedding and sprayed what looked like indoor pest spray outside, which did nothing. During our actual wedding, ants were crawling on tables and chairs, on our wedding party, and on our guests. Instead of being fully present on my wedding day, I was watching people brush ants off their clothes. Inside was not any better. The speakeasy room had a strong foul smell like dirty or stagnant water. The pool bathroom constantly smelled like sewage and was essentially unusable. As the groom, standing there knowing our friends and family had traveled to be with us, it was embarrassing and honestly humiliating to have them dealing with that. The sleeping arrangements were a mess too. The Murphy beds were broken and difficult to open, and the air mattresses they counted in their “bed” total did not work. The night before our wedding, our guests were frustrated and scrambling just to figure out where they could sleep. That is the last thing we should have been dealing with. The morning after, another wedding party was already arriving while we were still trying to leave. The cleaners showed up shortly before them. We watched them clean with glass cleaner on most surfaces, and on the Murphy beds they took off the comforters but left the same sheets and pillowcases on for the next guests. Seeing that was disgusting and made me question how clean anything really was for us. The bartending and serving staff arrived right at the start time instead of early, were clearly unprepared, sloppy, and inconsistent all night, left trash on the floor after, and then told our guests they should tip them over 200 dollars more because they felt they “deserved” it. That is completely unprofessional and put our guests in an awful position. My wife and I picked Lake Lucy Estates because on the surface it looks like the perfect place to get married. Instead, our once in a lifetime weekend was filled with ants, foul smells, broken beds, useless air mattresses, questionable cleaning, and staff who did not treat our day with basic care or respect. You do not get to redo your wedding. We trusted this venue with one of the biggest days of our lives, and that trust was absolutely not honored.
