River + Root is a queer and trans owned photography business that specializes in weddings, elopements, portraits and providing visibility to every kind of couple. We focus on photographing genuine moments of love and compassion, keeping things light, guiding you through your day, and delivering photos that continue to tell your love story over and over, and hopefully light your soul on fire. Founded in 2017, River + Root Photography is based on the foundation that every couple, every love, and every story is beautiful and deserves to be seen and heard.

Inclusivity is one of our biggest priorities. We see, understand, and LOVE that not every wedding has a bride and groom, takes place in a church, or even has guests. We know that weddings are unique events that are put on to channel your love, and no wedding is the same. Whether it is through our inclusive contact forms, comfy, movement focused portraits that don't feel heteronormative, or our tendency to lean towards curiosity always--we want you to feel seen and loved on your day.
