In such a way that cannot be explained or accounted for, we’re influencing imagery that brings numinous emotions. Tailoring each circumstance, or experience with the realization that each passerby has a life as vivid and complex as our own.

Our job is to love people and we love because love is the only true adventure. Synchronously, we experience the most amazing love of your life with the most amazing people in your life. There is no other reasoned argument for why we do what we do. Our couples trust us, not by happenstance or serendipitous encounter, but for the grace, style and suavity that our imagery brings.

Nothing “Lux” about Lavishly Lux Studios

We experienced poor time management, a lack of accountability, unprofessionalism, and carelessness from Lavishly Lux Studios owned by Misha. Poor time management: A month prior to the wedding, we received a form where we could provide a wedding day shot list. On the wedding day, I had hair and makeup ready at 1:45pm and was waiting for "getting ready" shots before hopping into my dress. Our contract began at 2pm for a 4:30pm ceremony. I saw Misha once at 2:04pm then I did not see our photographers or videographer again until 2:45pm. The first look was supposed to be at 2:30pm, it happened at 3:45! Because of how poorly the timeline was managed, much of our desired shot list, especially bridal portraits, was not accomplished. No Accountability: After that initial 45 minutes had passed with no shots of the bride, I sent a bridesmaid to find Misha. When she arrived she dismissed my concern. After the wedding day, when I shared feedback about missing priorities that we had discussed in our pre-wedding consultation, Misha falsely blamed me for "not being ready." She even suggested I should have booked a separate bridal session if I wanted time for portraits, which is ludicrous given 1) she never raised a timeline concern previously and 2) the ample time provided in our contract with two shooters. Unprofessionalism: It was 5.5 weeks until we saw any wedding photo highlights. We did not receive a video teaser at that time. Fast forward, our 90 day contract timeline comes and goes, with no communication from Misha. On day 92, I email, no response. On day 94, my husband emails. She says there has been a death in the family and gives us a new eta for our products. We have empathy for emergencies and grief. Still, we were disappointed with the lack of proactive communication. The full photo gallery was posted on day 100. She volunteered to send us a free canvas photo for the delay, but no one reached out to obtain a mailing address. We asked on day 100 about the 3 videos (1m teaser, 5m highlight, and documentary) outlined in our contract which we did not expect to be delayed since edits are not handled by her. No response. 5 days later we email again, Misha gives us a new eta of one week. One week passes, no communication. We emailed 2 weeks after the new eta, no response. We email again and she gives a new eta of one week. We received our 3 video products 150 days after our wedding, (60 days after our contract agreement). Carelessness: We were hopeful that the products would be great because we generally admired Lavishly Lux’s portfolio but the quality we received did not match the portfolio or price we paid. Many photos felt rushed or unedited; and nearly a third of the 700-photo gallery consisted of duplicate black-and-white versions. Effectively, we received only 500 unique photos from two shooters. We asked for re-edits of 2 particularly bad photos (I’ve attached one for reference), that she never acknowledged or updated. Further, we were contacted on Instagram by an editor in Indonesia claiming Misha had not paid him for his work on our videos—a claim that raised serious concerns about her business ethics and outsourcing practices. Lavishly Lux seems to have previously been a great business and I love to root for and invest in women-owned and Black-owned businesses but we experienced an extreme lack of care, ethics, and professionalism throughout the entire photography and videography service.
