Born and raised on North Carolina’s Outer Banks, I’ve been capturing love stories for over 18 years. Married to my high school sweetheart and raising our two boys on this little sandbar we call home, I’m inspired by family, connection, and the coast. I create images that feel modern yet timeless - blending classic elegance with natural, editorial moments. OBX based, serving couples on the Outer Banks and beyond, with winters spent in Costa Rica. Let’s tell your story.

We strive to create beautiful images, that while modern & fresh, will stand the test of time without being stuffy. Images that will still look gorgeous 20, 30, 60 years from now. We blend classic elegance with editorial moments, and we have fun doing it. We've photographed weddings throughout the East Coast, and love blending our affinity for the water with our love of the mountains. Our work is a perfect blend for couples who love the water, and often choose a beach or coastal engagement session, while hosting their wedding in a non-beach location. We can't wait to tell your love story!

If you need a photographer, Courtney Hathaway is the one to hire! Fun, caring and talented are just a few words to begin with. My husband and I are both camera shy and from day 1 of shooting our engagement, Courtney made us feel comfortable and confident. We had a giant wedding party and a toddler on board, no prob for Courtney! Everyone has expressed to us how fun she made our wedding shoot and how gorgeous all the photos turned out. She certainly knows how to work with big groups, shy couples, and little kids! We've worked with her through pouring rain from a tropical depression (wedding day), whipping winds on a beach (engagement shoot), and a perfect warm sunset surprise engagement by the sound. Every single time, she pulls through and creates timeless beautiful galleries.

Once we've established availability, we do require a signed contract and non-refundable retainer to secure the date. Our system is completely electronic to make things as easy as we can for our couples!

As soon as you have a date/venue secured! Most of our couples book up to a year in advance.

Yes! Our primary packages do include a second photographer/assistant.

We typically have a quick little sneak peek up within 48 hours. The full gallery is ready within 8-12 weeks of your wedding date.

We include engagement sessions in both of our primary packages and consider them to be an invaluable part of our workflow! It's so beneficial for us to get a chance to work with our couples prior to the big day - as a way for us to get to know each other and also for them to get comfortable in front of our camera! It really helps to make for a seamless wedding day! Included engagement sessions are on the Outer Banks, though we are happy to travel if you have something else in mind (*travel fees apply). We have photographed many couples the week of their wedding when they aren't available earlier.

1000000% yes. In fact, we do only work with couples who are also utilizing the services of a local planner or day-of coordinator. After 15 years in the wedding industry we've found our most smoothly run weddings are those that have a professional planner on site. While we know your Aunt Sally loves you, there's just no replacement for a professional. When no planner is present, the photographer becomes the default go-to for allllll the things on a wedding day. While we are always happy to jump in when a crisis happens, we want to give our full attention to our task at hand - photographing your big day!
