My name is Roberta Staggs, founder and lead designer of Hiawathia Floral Design Co. My passion for floristry began while caring for my grandmother during the final stages of Parkinson’s disease. Sharing flowers with her became a way to bring beauty, comfort, and connection during a difficult time. That experience inspired me to create a floral studio rooted in meaning and storytelling. Today, I design wedding florals that reflect Fearless Color, Modern Romance, and Artful Storytelling, creating vibrant, expressive designs that celebrate each couple’s unique love story and transform their celebration into a memorable floral experience.

What sets HFD apart is my approach to wedding florals as artful storytelling rather than simple decoration. My designs are inspired by fashion, film, art, and the natural movement of flowers, shaping my signature aesthetic of Fearless Color, Modern Romance, and Artful Storytelling. Each celebration is thoughtfully designed to reflect the couple’s vision and create an immersive atmosphere for their guests. I also incorporate eco-conscious practices, packaging florals for guests to take home and donating remaining blooms through our partnership with Random Acts of Flowers so the beauty of the wedding continues beyond the celebration.
