Gabriele's Hand Designs is an independently owned floral design studio that has been a successful part of the Connecticut and southern New England wedding community since 1992. We are dedicated to artfully designed personal flowers, ceremonies, and receptions and we cater to the unique style and budget of each of our clients on an individual basis. Gabriele's Hand Designs is owned and operated by Gabriele DeFrances, with a team of freelance professional designers. Gabriele works personally with each client and coordinates directly with her team to ensure that their event perfectly matches their vision.

Unlike many florists, we work very closely with our clients, getting to know them on a personal basis, and allowing for an open dialogue, with continual support and fine tuning of design up to the weeks before the event. We also provide personal service, with a designer and staff on hand the day of the event, which even includes the pinning of any boutonnieres and corsages. We take care of everything floral so that our clients are free to enjoy their event

We worked collaboratively with Gabriele's Hand Designs for our July 2025 wedding - and were so pleased we did! I greatly appreciated the opportunity to meet with Gabriele to connect in-person during the early consultation stage. In this meeting, we discussed all things wedding aesthetics (e.g., dress, men's attire, venue, color scheme, bridal party size, and floral design vision). Gabriele's experience and knowledge was evident in how effortlessly she helped me navigate conversations related to floral selection that best matched my color scheme, season, style and budget. After our initial consultation and contract development, Gabriele and I continued to work collaboratively via email and follow-up phone consultations to ensure that all details were in place as we approached the big day. On our wedding day, Gabriele arrived on-time, and did a beautiful job with the execution and placement of our pieces (which included: bouquets, corsages, boutonnieres, bud vases for our tables, grounded flower arches, and a last minute request for a wedding cake meadow). The day was beautiful - and I owe many thanks to Gabriele for her part in it!

Gabriele's Hand Designs was an absolute pleasure to work with for my wedding. From our very first meeting, Gabriele's communication was professional, timely, and friendly. She sat down with me on two separate occasions to go over all of the details, and was flexible when I wanted to make changes. Gabriele's creative work with my flowers for my bridal shower and wedding day truly brought my vision to life. She took the inspiration I showed her and nailed it, making it even better than I could've imagined. The quality of Gabriele's work was breathtaking - her arrangements were creative, beautiful, and artistic. I truly cried when I saw my bouquet for the first time, because it was everything I wanted it to be. I couldn't recommend Gabriele's handiwork enough. She was truly a pleasure to work with and patient and kind throughout the whole planning process. She was with me every step of the way and was a vendor I didn't have to worry about. She made me feel reassured and confident that she would deliver what I was looking for!

Our wedding flowers were absolutely above and beyond. Gabriele's Hand Designs is my mom's business so I am familiar with the quality of her work, but despite this I was still blown away by the quality and beauty of our wedding's flower arrangements. They perfectly captured the urban fairy-tale style I was going for and Gabriele crafted a unique look based on the colors palette I shared, preferred flower types (I knew I wanted roses) and Pinterest boards shared. She did the hard part of making it all come together into lively, whimsical creations that captured our wedding vibe perfectly. I particularly loved the little mushroom bud vases she found which were perfect for us.
