We are a husband and wife team located in New Haven, Connecticut who have played over 1000+ weddings and hire professionals from the top orchestras in New England. As a modern couple ourselves, recently married in May of 2021, we are very familiar with the process on both sides. Modern Strings offers a variety of ensemble choices for your budget that range from a solo violinist, to an electric duo, to full string quartet. Whether you are wanting to stay classic or try something unique, our music library can offer you classical, pop, religious, film, jazz music, and more!

We believe that the modern couple, should have modern musicians that can take play in a variety of styles in order to create a personalized experience for their event. Planning a wedding is an exciting time, and you'll have not one, but two people to assist in complementing your musical style to your wedding.

Modern Strings took my wedding to the NEXT level!
We booked Modern Strings for our wedding and they absolutely nailed it. From our first conversation, the team understood exactly what we wanted and kept us in the loop every step of the way. They played beautiful music that fit our theme perfectly and honestly, we didn't have to worry about a thing because they knew what they were doing. Their knowledge and professionalism gave us total peace of mind on our wedding day. Definitely book Modern Strings!!
We booked Modern Strings for our wedding ceremony and couldn’t be happier with our decision! From the beginning, Celine has been super communicative and organized. They have an extensive repertoire of songs to pick from and they sound beautiful no matter the genre! As we were taking photos at the venue before the ceremony, we got to hear our musicians warming up and we almost cried then and there because of how gorgeous they sounded. I would highly recommend Modern Strings without hesitation!

Best Wedding Ceremony music in New England
We hired "Modern Strings Quartet" for our wedding last weekend in Sturbridge Massachusetts. We found them on Instagram actually! And we booked them about 18 months out, and we're so glad that we did, because they are in High demand, and they book up pretty early. So reach out to them as soon as you can. But we found their prices to be reasonable! It is run by an adorable husband/wife team (Celine & Ben). They have different packages for you to choose from, at all different price-points to fit your needs. I believe during the day time, they run a violin school too.... So these musicians are legit. We had a Winter/Christmas themed wedding, so everything was indoors. We had about 130 guests, so decided to get the "Quartet" package, meaning 4 string players to make the venue & songs sound "full". But if you wanted, you could just hire 1 player, or 2 players, or 3 players, if you have a smaller wedding. They are very flexible. And they are so prompt and quick to respond to all your emails (which I can't say the same about our other wedding vendors lol). They are so quick to respond and so easy to work with. I am already trying to think of other events that we can hire them for in the future lol. Everyone of our guests were talking about "Modern Strings"! They played a ton of modern pop songs, and made them sound like "Bridgerton".... Gave our whole wedding a classy vibe. They also played some classical music & holiday music by request! When we do our vow-renewals, we're definitely hiring them again! No question! We chose to walk down the aisle to them playing "Yellow" by Coldplay, then mid-ceremony to "Married Life" from Disney/up, then the recessional walk back to "Marry You" by Bruno Mars. Then they played our entire cocktail hour. I literally could sit there and listen to them play forever! And during our wedding, our venue started ran behind, so cocktail hour turned into cocktail "75 min"! But without asking, the band stayed a little later and helped entertain & assuage the restless guests. They are simply the best musicians you can get in the new England area. Shout out to Celine & Ben, and congratulations too on expecting your new family addition!

Amazing
Modern Strings was a pleasure to work with throughout our wedding planning process. Their communication was easy and responsive, which put us at ease leading up to the big day. On the wedding day, they delivered an exceptional performance, playing a variety of songs. Their talented musicians made our ceremony feel truly special and personal.
