Hi, I’m Stephen. I’m a professional wedding DJ and musician with a PhD in Music Composition. I help couples create weddings that feel fun, modern, and genuinely them. You won’t get a cookie-cutter playlist or a DJ who just presses play. You get a thoughtfully curated soundtrack that reflects your style, your people, and the energy you want at every moment.     Honestly, I would love to be friends with Stephen Downing! I loved his vibe from the beginning, and my husband and I are so glad to have booked him for our wedding in November 2025! Stephen was easy to work with from the beginning. We had a quick phone call at the inception of planning to get a rough outline of what we were looking for. Stephen provided a handy shared document for us to brainstorm the ceremony and reception music from the start of the day to the end! I was a very DIY bride, so I’m so thankful that he shared this document with us early so that I could get to work! Not only did Stephen play our favorite tunes on the dance floor, but he also announced for our whole reception and provided the setup for our ceremony. His setup is impressive and made complete by some extremely fun dance floor lighting. Honestly, working with Stephen made my wedding planning a breeze. I didn’t have to think about the actual flow of the night at all. He has weddings down to a science, taking into consideration every part of the day to make sure the vibe is always right! If my husband and I could get married again, we would absolutely pick Stephen Downing! I wish our reception could have lasted forever. I’m still wishing to get back on that dance floor with all of our friends! Thank you, Stephen, for the most magical night!

    Stephen is an incredible DJ and I can't recommend him highly enough. I could go on and on about how easy he was to work with, how great his playlists were, or how he nailed the vibes - and I can't stress enough how true these are. But the most memorable thing was a week or two before the wedding when we had our final call leading up to it. We reviewed the document he had shared and we had (partially) filled out, and talked through all of our preferences for the evening. There were still several less important details left to fill in, but Stephen told us that if we could get to them, that would be great, but if not, he'd make sure the night went well no matter what. It sounds silly and trivial, but in those final weeks before the wedding when every vendor is trying to finalize hundreds of little details, having one tell you "whatever you're able to do will be enough" is enough to make you cry tears of relief. Your wedding is going to be a memorable day, and your vendors are going to be a big part of that day. Stephen is a fantastic DJ, he nailed the vibes of the crowd and kept people dancing till they had to leave, but he's also someone you want to be a part of that day.

    Stephen was an absolute pleasure to work with! He worked with our schedule before the wedding and the day of. He made himself available at almost all hours of the day to help make our day absolutely perfect. His pre-made playlists were great for filling the gaps between our own playlists. Stephen also has top tier equipment! He’ll 100% play an active part in making your wedding day absolutely perfect. We’re glad we chose Stephen, and trust us when we say you don’t want anyone but him to DJ your event!

    Even after a year, we're still so grateful for how Stephen showed up for our wedding. If you're looking for a DJ, you cannot go wrong with the magic & energy he brings! From our first call with Stephen, we knew that he was dedicated to our vision, and we really appreciated his flexibility throughout the process. His package pricing was customizable to meet the needs of our budget, and his organizing tools allowed us to adjust our timeline / songs / requests as we continued throughout the wedding planning process. He also provided some helpful tips for timeline and setup based on his substantial experience with weddings! He created a song list for dinner and cocktail hour that we absolutely loved and was exactly what we were looking for, and we’ve been listening to it regularly even since the wedding! And multiple guests came up to us during the wedding to say how much they were enjoying the music. Even though we had a smaller wedding, he did a great job of reading guests’ energy and there were always people having a good time on the dance floor! As a queer couple looking for a DJ to set a tone of celebration and queer joy for the evening, working with Stephen was honestly such a gift. We would absolutely recommend him as a DJ for any event!
