Union Depot - St. Paul, Mn
Rating: 5.0 (1 review)
  • Up to 600 guests
  • Select services
  • Indoor & outdoor

Located in the heart of St. Paul, Union Depot is an elegant, historic, yet timeless event venue and active transportation hub. Completed in 1926, this landmark showcases a neoclassical style of architecture that captivates and doesn’t warrant a need for extravagant décor. Awe-inspiring columns wrap around the building facade, providing a breathtaking backdrop for wedding photos. Our main event space, the Waiting Room, boasts an intricately detailed vaulted ceiling and polished marble floors. It’s a highly customizable space with enough square-footage to accommodate your ceremony, cocktail hour, dinner reception and more. Union Depot has furniture to accommodate up to 600 guests and the space to accommodate 1,000+ guests. Looking to have a smaller wedding? Our beautiful Red Cap Room is a versatile space perfect for smaller wedding receptions! It’s fully equipped with AV and has space to seat up to 100 guests.

Venue considerations

  • Not wheelchair accessible
  • Additional event staff required
  • On-site parking not available
We couldn’t have asked for a better venue than Union Depot for our wedding. The venue manager was clear, communicative, and flexible throughout the planning process. She helped us with deadlines, floor plan adjustments, parking validations, access to getting-ready spaces, and being on-site the day of to support with our wedding coordinator. We also appreciated how affordable the venue and getting ready spaces cost for our budget. The venue itself was beautiful, and it was a relief to do a final walkthrough and drop off decorations the day before the event. The Waiting Room setup with digital signage, pipe and drape made it easy for guests to know where to go, and Union Depot offered stunning indoor and outdoor photo options, which was especially important given the unpredictability of the weather conditions. We can’t wait to visit Union Depot in the future to hop on the train/bus and reminisce on our wedding day there.

We got married 8/3 and i will say the Grands is truly a great place to have your wedding. They take so much stress and work off of wedding planning and make everything extremely easy. From our first meeting we knew we were going to get married here. They help with a lot of vendors such as DJ, Shuttle, candles for centerpieces and all decorations, Day of coordination, food, dessert, late night snacks, and so much more that I know I am missing! They break down the prices completely and we didn’t feel like anything extra was added to our final bill. Weeks before the wedding we met with Joe and Larry to help with the day of coordination and the entertainment piece of coordinating. This helped with giving the DJ an idea of what we wanted for our entertainment and helped our day flow so much easier. The day of our wedding could not have been more great. We got married on the lodge side and used the bridal suite to get ready. It truly is such a beautiful venue that needs little decorations. The staff and Joe were so helpful throughout the day and night to make the day go smoothly and kept open communication between my husband and I. We had DJ Alli and unfortunately it was her last wedding which I think was meant to be because she truly did such an amazing job keeping everyone on the dance floor and taking requests. Truthfully our wedding could not have been more perfect and we have no regrets choosing this venue

Hope Glen Farm

Cottage Grove, MN
  • Up to 280 guests
  • Select services

In 1910, President Taft signed the bill to establish Glacier National Park as the country’s 10th national park. Mr. Healy was given a plumbing contractor for the train depot here in St. Paul, where he met Samuel Bartlett, the architect of many of the railroad depots and Glacier National Park Lodge. Healy then commissioned Bartlett to renovate and enlarge the house. In 1914, the farm was sold to John Healy, the owner of Healy Plumbing and Heating Company of St. Paul. Mr. Healy’s company became closely tied to the Great Northern Railroad, as it provided the heating and plumbing for many of the train depots that were being built around the country at that time. The farm was named Hope Glen Farm, the name of John Healy’s mother’s maiden name of Hope, and the house settles in a Glen, thus Hope Glen.

We loved Hope Glen, my wife said it was way above and beyond what she had hope and dreamed for her wedding and all of our guests commented on how amazing the venue was! All the beautiful and differently decorated spaces were very functional and made our wedding flow effortlessly. We felt so blessed getting married in a super rain storm in the beautiful dinner hall. We also loved the tree house, it was such a magical place to spend our first night together. We loved the ambient worship music, we were worshipping together all night until we fell asleep. It was super special. Also Eryka was incredible. The bridal bliss package was absolutely worth every penny. I don't know how we could have got all that done on our own without her help, especially being out of state. We also highly recommend the horse carriage. The audible gasp of all our gusts was intoxicating as my beautiful bride arrived by horse carriage looking like a storybook princess.

My husband and I just got married at The Refuge a few weeks ago, and we could not have asked for a more perfect wedding venue! Our entire weekend from the rehearsal dinner, getting ready in the bridal suite, the ceremony, dinner, and the reception was absolutely amazing. The venue, wedding ceremony location, bridal suite, and banquet area are all incredibly beautiful. The breakfast and lunch we had in the bridal suite getting ready, and the dinner during our reception was phenomenal. We served oven roasted chicken and fresh salmon, our guests are still talking about how great the food was! Our wedding was everything we could have dreamed of and more, and we cannot thank our wedding coordinator, Lisa, and the rest of the Refuge staff for making our wedding the best weekend of our entire lives! If we could do it all over again, we would absolutely choose The Refuge!!! 10/10!

I recently hosted my son’s wedding rehearsal dinner at BK Wedding & Event Venue, and it was a truly wonderful experience from start to finish. The event planner, Laura, was a pleasure to work with—always friendly, responsive, and genuinely committed to making the evening special. What really stood out was how open they were to our ideas and food preferences. We were free to choose any type of food/meal we wanted, and everything tasted exceptional. My husband got married here in August of 2023 after the remodel and it was so beautiful. The Plymouth room was so beautiful and perfect for dinner and dancing. The balcony was also fantastic for guests to have space to hang out outside during cocktail hour. The garden was so exquisite that we did not need any decorations! There was plenty of parking for everyone and easy for guests to find. We worked with Nicole and she was so organized and answered all of my questions to make the day so smooth. I can't say enough great things about Wicked Wort. When we got engaged, we didn't give our venue a second thought. The inside of the brewery is so cool and unique, it made for some amazing photos. The day of, I didn't have to think about anything, they were all so great at taking care of what needed to be done. The best thing about having our wedding here? It was working with family. There wasn't a bunch of people running around who we didn't know- it was the same faces we had met with and planned with. Steve and Tracy are about the best business owners/runners, and having their family involved makes it even cooler. I look back on our photos and think about they day with so much joy- the pictures are as unique as the day was- and that's how it should be :) We wouldn't have changed a thing of how our big day went- and I will keep recommending Wicked Wort forever. From day one they were so accommodating and truly let your visions come to life. Quincy Hall was an incredible venue for our wedding! We had around 200 guests for our September wedding and it felt simultaneously spacious and cozy. The QH team was very responsive and helped with planning every step of the way. They were also super accommodating and helped fine ways for us to meet out budget while still getting the experience we were looking for. The venue and surrounding area had a number of spots for stunning, industrial vibe photos and we couldn't be happier with the look and feel for our day. Our food was also outstanding. We knew the food at Crave would be delicious, but we received so many compliments from guests about their meals. They have some of the most reasonable prices on the market and the catering staff were super professional and polished. Overall, we had a great experience and would highly recommend Quincy Hall!

Reeds & Rushes is an amazing venue! When we first toured the place, it was still under construction, but we trusted Curtis and Maddy's vision. They truly impressed us with the final result. With the wood details and black and white accents, the venue provides the perfect backdrop for your special day. We were thrilled with the addition of the dock and the pergolas in the back patio. Our outdoor ceremony by the lake was beautiful. The Bridal & Groom suites were terrific, I loved that the Groom suite had a golf simulator – it kept the guys entertained while they waited! The Bridal suite was also gorgeous and spacious enough for 8 girls. Curtis and Maddy were excellent to work with, very responsive, and always helpful whenever we had any questions. I would definitely recommend them!

We had a wonderful experience with Abella. They were communicative throughout the entire planning process and answered all of our questions. Everyone was so friendly during set up. We did have a mishap where the outdoor space didn’t have enough chairs and they got that fixed right away. They also dried all the water off the chairs for us (it rained before the ceremony). The spaces are beautiful and were kept clean. You can definitely tell they are professionals with how smoothly our day turned out.

The Van Dusen Mansion was the perfect venue for our wedding. From the first time we reached out, the staff was fast, efficient, and incredibly kind throughout the entire planning process. The only downside was they have a preferred caterer that was very expensive and harder to work with since they only had specific options and plans. On the day of, their day-of coordinator was amazing - she ensured the flow of the event went smoothly and everything was executed flawlessly. The space itself is absolutely beautiful and regal, creating a truly special atmosphere for our special day. Overall, we felt the value of the Van Dusen Mansion was well worth it, and we're so grateful to have celebrated our wedding in such a stunning and well-run venue.
