Wedding cakes can range from $3–$15 per serving . Tiered cakes are more expensive than sheet cake styled cakes.

How should we cut our wedding cake?

Traditionally, you’d do a ceremonial cutting first, often holding hands on the knife. The caterer then takes the cake away and cuts it into slices to distribute to guests. If you’re slicing it up yourselves, take apart the tiers and cut them into small rectangles. Remember to wrap and freeze the top layer for your anniversary!

How should we transport our wedding cake?

Very carefully! Ideally, your cake will be delivered by your bakery, which should have plenty of experience transporting cakes. You can also purchase special boxes made to protect the tiers.

When should we order our wedding cake?

Set up tastings (the fun part!) around 7 months out. Once you’ve decided, place your order.

It was not just a dessert; it was an art piece that reflected our entire wedding aesthetic. “Shannon is the best! She made us a giant cake for our wedding, and it was the most beautiful and tasty thing I have ever seen/eaten. We are still getting compliments from our guests about our cake and how awesome it was! Shannon was one of the most easy people to work with, from scheduling our tasting, to mock-ups of the cake vision, to payment. She made it so easy to make sure our dog was on the cake! She is in constant communication with you, which I sincerely appreciated. I never had to worry about our cake making it to where it needed to be or looking perfect! She also made the most delicious cupcakes for the grooms cake and was very flexible on how we would have them displayed. She's the best! “We hired Cakes by Stephanie for our wedding cake that we planned to cut, along with the sheet cake for our guests and they did not disappointment! Very professional and amazing tasting. They did the exact design of our wedding cake which looked marvelous and tasted amazing too. I loved that they had sugar-free options, so our wedding cake was sugar-free along with a regular sheet cake for guests. Overall, I would definitely come to them again for our cake because both tasted amazing.”
