How should we cut our wedding cake?

Traditionally, you’d do a ceremonial cutting first, often holding hands on the knife. The caterer then takes the cake away and cuts it into slices to distribute to guests. If you’re slicing it up yourselves, take apart the tiers and cut them into small rectangles. Remember to wrap and freeze the top layer for your anniversary!

How should we transport our wedding cake?

Very carefully! Ideally, your cake will be delivered by your bakery, which should have plenty of experience transporting cakes. You can also purchase special boxes made to protect the tiers.

We did a 2 tier marble cake which was amazing, the groom's cake was a Georgia themed Football which was 1 part carrot cake and 1 part red velvet which left us speechless, and the absolute show stopper was the banana pudding cupcakes! Oh my gravy these were the talk of the night! All the cakes were so moist and rich but also decadent and tasted like happiness lol! In regards to Portia herself, I would have to say she is a pleasure to work with! I had at least 3,475 questions throughout the process and she was so patient and understanding and on time!! We spent months trying to figure out how to make it happen without success when, miraculously, we stumbled upon Twin Treats on Zola. We reached out to Amy, who responded within hours. We were in Nashville for the weekend for wedding planning, and Amy threw together a tasting box for us with barely any notice. Every single dessert we sampled was scrumptious - it was difficult to choose only a handful for our wedding reception! For the big day, Amy went above and beyond, even learning how to make a traditional Peruvian cookie (the "alfajor") for the dessert table. She totally understood our vision for our wedding cake, too. “Going with The Naked Cupcake for our wedding day was a no-brainer. We compared several different places and none of them hit the mark like The Naked Cupcake did. To start, they offer the option of a virtual consultation for the tasting, which makes it super easy and convenient for busy people like my husband and I. You get to pick out 4 different combinations to taste for cupcakes, pick them up, and then schedule a virtual consultation that works for your schedule. After that, it was smooth sailing. I told Alison exactly what I was looking for and she delivered! She was so easy to talk to, flexible to get us what we wanted, and quick! Plus, she was very on top of things making sure our venue got their insurance, communicating with our wedding planner, etc. My husband and I were so happy we went with them.
